I think about suicide all the time. I plan it out in my head. Think of when and how I'd do it..where I'd go to do it, etc etc. Right now I dont think I'd ever actually do anything about it...but I was wondering is this normal? I mean does everyone think about suicide?

I just realize everyone is gonna think I'm a teenager upset because my mother didnt buy me the 300 dollar jeans I wanted. To clarify, I'm not a teen, I'm in my 20s.

No, it is not "normal". A chemical imbalance may be causing the recurring thoughts of suicide. I suffered for a long time until I spoke honestly to my doctor. The medications have stopped the suicidal thoughts.

There are two ways to explain this:

1. Yes it can be normal / AND / No this can be a warning sign - this would've been triggered by a lot of things. Did something happen recently that made you wonder about it. It could also been triggered by a movie that you watched.

It's not about you "taking your life". Its more about the planning. Going everything thoroughly through in your head can be because you are a bit of a perfectionist in your life. You need to relax a bit more. It can also be because you are a bit depressed at the moment.

You know there are so many things that would've triggered these thoughts.

2. It could be a sign that you are taking on to much in your life at the moment and you are thinking of a way to end everything just in case it may back fire. You want to make sure that you do have a perfect plan.

3. You may have an obsession with death and the way that it happens. Have you only thought about the deed itself or the feelings you may feel while committing the deed?

For a precaution I would suggest you talk to a professional about this situation that you find yourself in.
I'm affraid that after you get use to this thoughts that the next step is for you to want to experience the deed itself.

It's really sad that life is so bad for you (at the moment) and I hope it gets a hell of a lot better real quick.
If there is heaps of bad stuff going on around you of course you are going to feel down even think crappy thoughts like that but to actually sit and plan ways of doing it, that's starting to go a bit too far
Many people do think of it but its only because they can't see a way out (I've been there) You definitely need your spirits lifted and if you can't do that naturally and with the help of friends and family then maybe you do need to go see a Dr, sometimes medication does help (the right ones)
Please don't do any thing to hurt yourself the pain you will cause others(your loved ones) is unimaginable and its something that can never be put right again.
I sometimes never thought I would reach the age I am now but here I am with my gran kids now and I have experienced so many good things now, which I wouldn't have if I didn't get real help when I needed it.
I had every right in the world to be feeling like that too but I just had to pull myself out of it and survive thank god so far I have made it. Chin up and good luck for your future

I think that everyone thinks about it, but not every day. Is there a reason why you are thinking about it daily? Suicide is a means to remove yourself from pain and the thought of it can cloud your better judgement and make it seem like suicide is the only way out. If there is some sort of pain in your life (that includes general depression, which may not have a specific "reason") then you need to go talk to someone neutral that you trust- like a school counselor or a doctor.

personally i never think about suicide but a lot of people think about suicide at some point so that part is normal. whats not normal is when you think about "how" you will do it and you obviously have that all planned out. its also not so good that you think about it every day. sounds to me like you are going through some type of depression. talking to friends can help. life is not always as bad as it seems and if it is then be patient that it will get better. life can be like a roller coaster so that means its not always going down. but if you have some type of chemical imbalance causing this then you may need to seek out some type of professional help like a doctor or something because there is only so much you can do. don't be embarrassed about taking pills if it will help you. just try to be positive... ask God to help you out.

And if your not depressed then all i can tell you is to look within yourself and try to find out whats up

We all get a little depressed now and then and sometimes we do think about it. But thinking about suicide all the time isn't healthy. Sometimes we may feel like suicide is the only way out of our problems, but it's not. There are people who care, and they want to help. If you need somebody to talk to, try a friend, or heck send me a message {I wanna be a psychologist one day lol}

Human mind is capable of imagining almost anything. Not with purpose, but yes its something most of us have thought and maybe more than once.
Plotting suicide and trick only sound 'cool' and it isn't.
Try looking at brighter side of life, the more you wield your mind in such thoughts, more you become indifferent to emotions.

It is not normal, because sometimes thinking more about life taking plots makes person a freak.
Try thinking something totally different when thought of suicide comes in mind.

Everyone thinks about suicide at one time or another. Usually during the adolescent years. It can seem quite intriguing at that age. All the people that will miss you,how awesome you will look in your coffin, how everyone will be crying because your dead, how life will change for all those who know you. News Flash......You will be dead, and unfortunately life will go on without you. Please realize that these thoughts are kinda normal. If they become increasingly prevalent seek help. You don't want to die....and I don't want you too either.

no, i wouldn't really say that it is normal, but to call it abnormal would be a little much. for example, i absolutely hate where my life is going sometimes. I joined the military, which is nice, i'm not gonna lie, but it isn't what i thought it would be. so sometimes, yea, thoughts go through my brain, even sometimes to as far as how, when, where, whatever. but, at the same time, everyone has friends, family, entertainment of some kind. and thats what makes me get up every day. one has the power of their own free will, but what i think mostly effects that free will, is not what these blogs say, all these answers from just regualr people. but its the answers that make us look deeper than we did before. so, i guess what iam saying, is yea, sometimes, life blows ***, excuse my choice of words. but sometimes you have to be stronger than you think that you ever could be. my father used to tell me, that "nothing ever gets betters, before it gets worse." please take what you can. in my opinion, dont kill your self, it really isnt worth it in the end.

i do and no it's probably not "normal", whatever that is but sometimes everything in your life just sucks and hurts so much that youthink about it. it is not so much that you want to die, but you want that part of you that is hurting to end. I agree with everyone else here, though i'm not taking the same advice for myself but yes you should talk to a professional about your feelings. I sympathise with you, i know what that constant aching and pain feels like and i know what it is like to want to die but don't go there. Things will get better and you can get through this, just talk to someone that will listen to what you have to say. All the best.
