Trying to lure them into reacting early eh?... Well, if you care about this so much, I'll give you a non-sarcastic answer, I'd likely be flattered and think it sweet if I had ever achnowledged their existance in the past. If it had been only one-sided interaction, I might kind of brush it off as strange and not take it too seriously though.
But really, out of possible responses, none of them are really wholey negative, a confused response is at least more likely than a negative one. And it's always in one's best interest to keep the target of one's affections confused, makes 'em more vulnerable. *cough*
EDIT: Fine, thank gorgeous but not any of the others who make moderately serious supportive comments... We won't feel left out. :'(

I hope you will not become enamoured with what you have heard..... Guard your heart, girl.... it is the one thing that is easy to break..... such a fragile thing to put in someone else's hands....
and if it is valuable to you.... you will protect it....
Neither one of you know each other.... so don't let kind words sway your heart into believing in that "aroma"..... It has lead a many off of tall cliffs...... I say: Careful before you fall!!!
Your sister,
Ginger

Flattered. Like I said, there are several very intelligent men here that I love. There are also several ladies that I admire.

I'd be very cautious if you don't know this person very well. I think it's quite silly to say you're in love with someone whom you've never even met!

I'd say I'm flattered and leave it at that. I don't trust who's on the other end of the computer.

I'd respond to them with dignity. I would tell them that I was flattered, but I really don't share those feelings for them.
