What would be a great breed to mix an Akita with? Im not really breeding an Akita, just wondering

At the end of the day you would cross it with whatever breed or cross breed that you think would add something to or improve on what you already have. Its a bit like labradoodle's... there was a need for allergy free guide dogs so they crossed the Labradors with poodles because poodles actually have hair rather than fur so people aren't allergic to them. They got a dog smart enough to be a guide dog that had hair instead of fur- problem solved.
The questions you would have to ask yourself are things like size, long/short hair, temperament etc and try to "adjust" what you have toward what you would like.
Akita's have a reputation for aggression so personally i would be looking for something that is more passive and people orientated to try to reduce any aggressive tendencies particularly toward small animals and as I prefer a medium sized dog I would look at something smaller in size. I think I would go for something in the spaniel line as they are really people orientated, gentle with other animals and generally have lovely placid easy going natures.
I certainly would not consider crossing an Akita with any other potentially aggressive breeds as this may create a time bomb just waiting to go off.

omg did you miss the find a hobby response? if it will get you off of here mix the dog with a dolphin. that way it can take over the job of the coast guard and protect our borders and rescue people too.

ID BREED THE AKITA WITH A SIMILAR SIZE POOCH THAT YOU ADMIRE WITH GOOD CHARACTERISTICS AND A LOVEABLE NATURE. MIXED BREEDS CAN BE ADORABLE

with an akita i think maybe a husky because they are both beautiful dogs and i think they would make adorable puppies

Try a german shepherd or a border collie. look for striking markings and varying colours.
