I'd say no more than 5 days for most guys. For me, I could go 7 days since I travel so much.
Tricky question though, since he will not want to leave a message, since that gives you the control. He'll want to call and reach you direct. If he keeps getting voicemail, he may hang up and try later (I would); then it will seem like he took longer.

umm maybe if he actually cares about you i'd wait like...2 -3 days max. but if ur just a piece of ***, dont expect any phone calls
