We have a 6 week old Golden retriever and he is the most adorable pup I have ever seen. My boys 8 yrs, 6 yrs and 3 yrs havnt come up with a name for him. We already have a Jake (Lab) and we like strong names but cant decide,
Anyone have a beautiful dog that we can name him after?

Marty, I love googling the great pyrenees mountains and locating names from the websites I find that talk about this area. Your pup is an interesting mix. If you wish to join a pyr group, you'd be welcome and we have others that are pyr/golden mixes and pyr/gsd mixes. I'll post a link below. I do recommend you read up on all four breeds and learn their breed traints. You can google "breed traits, german shepherd", "breed traits, great pyrenees" and etc. It will help you understand your dog better. Some possible names might be: Orientales Aude Ariège - a pyrenean area Aran Aragon - a pyrenean area Somport - named after a mountain pass Aneto - named from a mountain peak At Dog Breed Info there's a page on pyrs that shows some European pyrs and you might well see a name there which you like. After looking at his photo, I'd suggest you consider the names of the Muskateers (from the movie) who were french... like D'Artagnon -!-

Why not deviate from human names and give it a name that expresses its character. I have a dog now (from the pound) I called tiger because it never grew up and is always into mischief. I also used to have a lovely female terrier that just had to launch herself onto my lap at full speed- she was called Bru (bruiser) for the obvious reason and then there was spike who had a pointy tail.
However if you really like human names, try the players list of a sports team or something like that for a good selection of names.

boone, jude, mac or reed. all seem easy enough for all of your boys to say and shouldn't be too confusing for jake. which is a great name for a golden! good luck and how fun.
