The thing is that it only hurts when i shake my head. I wouldnt call it a headache, just a pain in the back of my head when i shake my head. Everyone keeps telling me to just stop shaking my head but im just scared of whats causing the pain. After a while it sometimes turns into a headache. i cant help but think of the possibility of a brain tumor. I had this before but never thought much of it and it would go away. I also know some other people who say they had the same thing. Anybody have any suggestions on what it may be? or if its even anything to worry about???

Both of the previous answers given do have some merit. I had a friend with your same symptoms and it turned out that he had a BROKEN NECK FOR MONTHS!!!! It, of course, was a very minor break, but getting an x-ray and a brain scan if this pain continues for more than a week is my advice, BUT ONLY AFTER YOU SEE AN ENT DOCTOR 1ST. Since you have only had this for a couple of days, it's probably allergies or a sinus infection. Also, have your ears checked out, too if this pain continues. However, if the pain gets worse or happens more often, don't wait to see a doctor, it might be serious. However, I seriously doubt that it is anything like a tumor - you don't have those kinds of symptoms. So relax, pay close attention to your entire body (changes in eyesight or smells, etc) and what your body might be trying to tell you.
(Please consider giving me some thumbs up if I deserve them - I need them! THANKS!

I had to go to a pain clinic for treatment of my migraines. I was told that of all the various types of "brain pains", Tension Headaches seem to center in the back of our heads, just above the neck and that application of heat can relieve discomfort, especially a warm shower focusing there.

Still, you definitely should seek professional medical opinions because there is so very much that can be causing your pain. Good luck, try to relax, and make an appointment at a clinic or doctor. Happy New Year and much luck with your health.

As an ER nurse, I would suggest that next time the pain bothers you...go straight to the ER. They will do a CT scan to see what is going on. It could be a bleed in your brain that needs to be taken care of quickly. Don't feel bad if they don't see anything or they say it is something minor. It is worth saving your life and having some peace of mind. That is priceless...

I would really go get it checked out because it could be something serious like a tumor or a brain aneurysm. My father had something similar and he had a brain Aneurysm three years ago and he went to the hospital just in time for the doctors to save his life. So i would go get it checked out just to know. I will pray for you.

I don't think it's a tumor or anything. It sounds like you're out of alignment. Go see a chiropractor. I have the same problem.
