First of all, how did you not get any aftercare instructions before you left? Anyway, in about 2 hours you can wash it with very mild antibacterial soap. Don't scrub or soak it though. Use the hottest water you can stand and gently wash with the palm of you hand. repeat till it feels like skin again. Pat dry (no rubbing) then leave it alone till morning. Wash again in the morning same as you did the night before. Then apply a VERY thin layer of ointment. Repeat ointment anytime the tatt feels dry. Remember to wash you hands every time you touch you new tatt. When your new tatt starts to peel..switch to a fragrance free lotion and apply several times a day till it heals. Never scratch a healing tatt and don't rub it at all until it heals. Good Luck :)

OK they were supposed to give you instructions before you got the tattoo or before you left! Anyway- you can clean your tattoo 2 hours after you get it done! make sure you clean it with an unscented soap like dove. rub with some subs in your hand and rub in a circular motion very softly. let warm (not hot!) over the tattoo don't let the water hit directly on the tattoo. pat dry with a lint free paper towel then put a thin layer of a&d ointment on it. don't pick at it or rub it too much! it should heal in about 2 weeks and you should be ok!

Clean with anti bacterial soap only. Just lightly rub the soap onto your tattoo with your fingers, and run it under warm water, PAT DRY.

DO NOT USE A&D OR NEOSPORIN ON A FRESH TATTOO EVER.

For first 2/3 days do not put anything on it, let it bleed out the excess ink and plasma, just wash it before you go to bed, and in the AM.

AFTER THE 2/3 DAYS YOU CAN START TO USE aquaphor (AN OINTMENT that can be found in the lotion aisle at drug stores) A littel goes a long way use just enough to have s small light layer over the tattoo.

after 5 days you can begin to use UNSCENTED NONALCOHOL) LOTION I RECComend,
CRUEL OR Lubriderm

you clean it when it starts to peel and when you get out of the shower.put the a&d on once or twice a day so it wont dry out and look ashy. keep it moist with the A&d but not to moist or else it will slow the peeling process down. And let it peel on its own, no rubbing it off.

Aveno Oatmeal and Cornhuskers are also good... well basically nothing with petroleum or senses.. the more natural the lotion the better.

Do not scrub. Do not scratch.
