Surely not the ones on this forum. They do not even respond to the call of this nation to help fight terrorism, instead they are here behind a computer scared and trying to fix everything with ignorant responses and questions.

I see YOU are behind your computer as well. Does this mean you are calling yourself ignorant and scared? Insulting the peopel here is not helping the war on terrorism. The immigrants will always be welcome here as long as they are here honestly and willing to work and PAY taxes like any other citizen enjoying the rights of this country. It is the illegal immigrants and worse, the terrorists that we are fighting against.

The issue is not that immigrants would stop coming. It's just that there are legal ways to come to the US, and like immigrants throughout our history, they have to follow the law like everyone else. The main issue is illegal immigration. Immigration is the backbone to this country's welfare. It always has been, and always will be. That won't change.
As for Americans being "afraid", I don't see it that way. We are not afraid to spill our blood in foreign lands to give other oppressed people of the world a chance to live in freedom. The only way the world will defeat terrorism is to give the poor of this world hope beyond the poverty they live in. Give them jobs, boost their economies, and give people their basic right from God--FREEDOM.

this country would be better without the illegals, crime would be down, tension would be down, and americans who made this country what it is, would keep this place running just fine. This whole thing about american's not doing these jobs is a farce and excuse to keep immigrants here, its sad all around and there's no winning answer but if i have a place and i want it worked on i call someone when they're done they go home, that simple.

Tch! Tch! so nasty. Who do you think is writing to the reps and sen. on this stuff? We ain't happy campers.
Our nation will go on without illegals just fine. Lots of Africans and Middle Easterers who deserve our help. KInda keeps things balanced out a bit. Then there's the rest of the world.
Sure, we can let Mexicans in ...just only one or two instead of the illegal 10. We'll give everyone a chance to leave gracefully and to let em' come back in if they do it properly. If they don't do it that way ...they go to jail of a while. Then back to south of the border or wherever.
In the meantime, our fabulous American patriots will be fighting each othr off to get their higher wage jobs that the illegals used to have ...and we will be off and running. We'll work it out but it is going to be unpleasant I suspect.
It' like not taking a splinter in your toe out before it becomes gangrene in your leg. IF you remove it in time it hurts a bit but if you wait ...well, you can lose your leg ...or even you life.
As you sit her and worry, rest assured American ability is working to solve the problem. We area big nation and have made some mistakes. This illegal thing is one of them. We will very likely get through it but I do believe there will be some painful stuff for all of us to have to endure.
I've go some bullets here ...you wanna bite on one along with me as we ease our way through the pain?

"give me your tired, send us those who need your shelter"...that is what your country was founded on...unfortunately, immigrants (whom ALL of non-native americans come from) are the first to be picked on...
And while I agree with your "ignorant responses and questions" statement, I do not agree with your sheep-like following of the "war on terrorism". Why is it that americans always want a "war" on something?....
the "war against terrorism" the "war on crime" the "war on whatever the flavour of the week is"...americans and the "gimme a gun" mentality....could this be a response to a partially ignorant question?...

United States will never stop legal immigrants from coming to this Country.
