Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country
protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of
illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might
protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this
country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I
correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover
me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made
all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept
the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm
hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into you r house).
According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must
add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide
other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard
work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that
breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my
friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest, um, except for well, you know.
And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, you have to pay the rest and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an anti-housebreaker.
Oh yeah, and I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.
Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?!
Only in America ...

Illegal Mexicans that come to American are not called illegal "criminals". They are called illegal "immigrants". Get it right. I do think that they should be called criminals though, because they are not here to be part of the American culture, they are just here to exploit the holes in the system.
Americans running to Canada? Since when do Americans run north to get away from their own country and to exploit or take advantage of another country?
Come on now guy, this was totally a dumb question. Thanks for the two points. Something tells me that I am not going to be the one getting the best answer. Haha

8 other states already offer illegal immigrants licenses. At least the ones getting licenses are registered into the database with their real ID. They can only get the drivers license if they show a passport. The database is also searched for duplicate entries for that ID Note that the 9-11 hijackers were not only here legally, they also had at least 35 drivers licenses. This licensing plan actually closes gaps in the security system instead of opening more. I am not sure where you get the idea it allows them to vote. They would still need to get onto a voters list. That means they need to be a citizen and not a convicted felon either. I wonder if any of you are interested in the fact that this law is being pushed by the Homeland Security with the Republicans in control of that department backing it strongly. The last thing they care about is whether somebody is driving uninsured. They want to know who is inside your country.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Because your grandmother went to Canada to take advantage of the cheap medical system, and you all are too chickesh*t to call your own grandmothers 'criminals'.
Besides, everyone knows that the concern about 'illegal immigrants' is really about preserving the White Race. Nobody really cares about immigrants if they're White, but every single Brown immigrant is an illegal. It's glorious bigotry from misinformed assh*les.
Like our friend up above who quoted a bunch of fake statistics he copied out of some White Power email he got.

ummm because the word illegal means breaking the law. and sneaking into this country is breaking the law. Case closed, if there was a law against americans going to canada then they'd be called illegal immigrants too.

Because Americans are skilled workers with money, they are not going to Canada with an attitude that "THIS COUNTRY IS MY MEAL TICKET, AND I DON"T GIVE A F-CK IF THEY DON"T LIKE IT", Thats why we don't like you, plus you broke the law, MAKING you a criminal, we don't want any criminals in the U.S., Just by showing up, makes you a criminal, you're also loaded with disease to spread to our children because, you have never been to a doctor, dentist, or have been immunized, Don't like it ?, GO HOME !

I am from Canada...and I agree with you....on the point of difference of labelling...
BUT...on the other hand, the americans who "ran" to Canada were of a different era who were consciencous objectors to yet another one of the american government's blunders....that would be Viet Nam.
As well, look back at how the soldiers were treated upon return from Viet Nam..how proud are you of your people when you see the dispicable and deplorable treatment of soldiers who were only doing what they were ORDERED to do by YOUR ELECTED GOVERNMENT...just like what is going on now in the Middle East by YOUR ELECTED GOVERNMENT...
by the way..did YOU vote for dubbya?

Americans do not flood other countries looking for handouts from governments that actually take care of their people like Mexicans.
You people are ruining what took 200 years to build in a decade. So take your crap questions somewhere else.

you're asking about your own "hot issue" flash-words.. "we" call them "x" because the use of dialect slanted in a certain direction promotes a that desired slant in the audience's subconciouos.. of course "we" don't want "illegals" coming into our country... but we also love that dang statue of liberty... The most famous quote on the Statue, written by Emma Lazarus, reads: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to breath free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore; send these, the homeless, the tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
and the feeble minded... somehow... love both of these concepts...
read some history books, study some of "your" country's fouunding principals... turn FOX news' audio vomit-fest off... and then ask yourself why "you" even listen to those words...
