Please don't listen to this inane advice. You could have PTSD, or some other reaction to this traumatic event you've had. There are great resources out there.

Stop thinking of what made you scared. The more you think about, the more you condition yourself into remembering and staying scared.

I use the Pollyanna principle of forgetiing bad things and only remembering good things...if the bad come to mind, I forcibly push it away and focus on something that makes me happy.

We all have sadness and scared things in our lives..and we have to learn to cope with it...and I did by just pushing it out of my thoughts ...

If its something like being attacked or molested or raped, then you need to go and tell the police or someone in authority...and let them handle it.. As I have got older, I have realised, there were many hurtful things people did to me which I hid, when I should have openly faced what was happening, and admitted it....Being nice only gets your stomach churning..so tell someone who can deal with it..like the police...or a doctor, or someone in authority.
You do not need to martyr yourself and make yourself sick with fear...pass on the responsibility to someone who can do something about it...like arrest them...

If its something you can just push away to the back of your mind..then do that...but life should be wonderful...and you have the right to be happy

Please find the courage to talk to a mature, trustworthy person about this experience.

It sounds like it may have been a bad experience. I and many other have had these experiences.

People can help.
