Viviane-

My name’s Lori and I am a writer for Gilbert Guide, a resource for senior care. While I don't know what can be done for your grandfather at this point, I wanted to extend to you my deepest hopes that you continue taking care of yourself. I was fifteen years old when my grandfather passed, after being sick for quite some time. It took me years to realize the trauma I experienced from his loss, and in retrospect, it would have been smart to speak to someone about my feelings when it first happened. My thoughts are with you. I'm impressed that you're able to think so clearly in such a troubling time.

It’s wonderful to see so many people offering you their thoughts and prayers. I was wondering if your grandfather has been utilizing any type of hospice services. I don’t know what time he has remaining, but hospice care could greatly benefit not only him but also his loved ones. Hospice services are intended to help people in the final stages of life manage their symptoms and live out their days alert, with minimal pain and dignity. Hospice care treats the person, not the disease and focuses on enhancing the quality of the time someone has remaining. If the disease does overpower your grandfather, hospice providers can also offer you and your family bereavement counseling. We’ve covered this issue in our blog, if you do decide to look into it.

Please continue to express your feelings and take care of yourself.

Wishing you strength—
The Gilbert Guide Team

Consider it done. My Father in Law passed away from lung cancer so I kind of know what you are going through. We will pray for you and your Grandfather in this uncertain time. I wish you the best.

I said a prayer, I don't know if you are Catholic or not, but try saying a rosary with him. Your special intentions could be that he Pass away peacefully and be received in Mary loving arms and delivered to heaven with love. I know it can be hard to deal with type of situation, but I am so happy for you that you are leaning on God and not lashing out at Him or others, your healing process will be all the easier because of it. I also prayed for your family and friends in your time of need.

Sweetie i will def. pray for u and your grandfather. I am so sorry to hear of his sickness but if he loves Jesus and accepted him as his lord and Savior then we all have nothing to worry about he'll be going to heaven. All u can do now is pray with all of us and tell ur Grandfather that Jesus loves him and that he is safe in the arms of the lord. I will also pray for peace over family as well as yourself. God bless you and your family as well as your Grandfather. In my prayers always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely. I hope it doesn't get to the point of death but if it does, his soul will surely go to heaven. And god bless you too for being so caring. I never got to meet my grandfathers and it must be really hard for you to see yours like this. I hope all goes well. Take care and god bless your family.
