Light beer from my perspective is like lowfat Milk. Just has more water in it. Actually Lite beer is easier on the stomach as far as less filling goes. Other than that it tastes like watered down beer to me .

Absolutely, lite beer taste a lot worse to me. Coors light, I'm not going to tell you what I think it tastes like.
When it's brewed, they use less hopps, sugars and malts to make it a "lite" beer.

"lite" beer is made using less malt than regular beer.
If you use (for example) 5lbs of malt for a 5 gallon batch,
"lite" beer would use between 3-4 lbs of malt for the same batch
This results in less fermentables (resulting in less calories) and
of course, less flavor. Many American breweries use corn or
rice in addition to malted barley in their mash. They achieve
flavor by adding non-fermentable grains (such as dextrine malt)
to their mash which gives added body, but no added calories.
