No, we are not under the law but under grace and truth (John 1:18). Here are a few scriptures that show us we are no longer under the law to establish our righteousness which is a gift from God (Romans 5:17) which we have received by faith (Romans 5:5).
JOHN 1:18 For the law was given through Moses but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Galatians 3:23-25 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for faith which would afterwards be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit. You are not under the law.
Galatians 2:21 For I do not set aside the grace of God; if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.
Galatians 5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by the law ; you have fallen from grace.

WHAT LAW?
WHICH LAWS STILL APPLY TO CHRISTIANS?
It is good to ask the Holy Spirit, the trustworthy Teacher, when we read that word LAW in our Bible - What LAW are we talking about? It is important to ask ANY teacher, ANY time, the word LAW is mentioned. What law are we talking about? If we will do that, then we may see through much of the strong delusion and confusion of these last days of the great falling away from THE Faith. Are we talking about 1) The Law of Sin and Death? 2) The Law of Moses? 3) The Oral Law? or 4) The Royal Law?
Most Christians would argue that things like the Sabbath, the Holy Days, and clean and unclean meats, are no longer binding on Christians under the new covenant. Sadly, the Bible speaks of such a great world wide famine for hearing the Word of God. It is sad how many Holy Bibles are different than the promised seventh purification.
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Romans 3:31 KJV HOLY BIBLE

I'm curious about this, as well. If Old Testament law no longer applies, then why is sodomy still considered an "abomination"? Jesus never said anything about sodomy being a sin. If it still applies and sodomy is still an abomination, then shouldn't eating shrimp and wearing clothing made out of more than one textile also still be consider abominations as well? (Not to mention accumulation of wealth, divorce, and remarriage, which even Jesus frowned upon.)
Why do so many Christians act as if the laws against sodomy still apply, but completely ignore Jesus' warnings about wealth and divorce? Is it not simply hypocrisy to consider homosexuals sinners but to let shrimp-eaters, divorcées, and rich people get away with their sins without a word of disapproval?

There is only one law or demand. That is to believe in Jesus. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son,
for whosoever believeth in Him shall have everlasting life.
PERIOD!!!nowhere does He say "Except if...." There are no exceptions!
Now the 10 commandments, or laws you talk of, are simply guidelines for moral and ethical development. I believe that this is where the "explaining" comes into play! Fortunately, if you Believe as required, you will have the luxury and opportunity to start your explanations! He knows that we all will have alot of explaining to do! The lucky ones earn the opportunity to be there to offer an explanation, the unlucky one's just didn't get it, did they? Sorry about their bad luck or STUPIDITY!! That's too much to lose to chance the gamble, don't you think??eternity is a long, long time!! Believe that!

Lets take Pork for example:
In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you”. This command is repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who eat pork.
Some people are aware of this prohibition from God, but they say that they can eat pork because St. Paul said that all food is clean in his letter to the Romans 14:20. St. Paul said this because he believed (as he wrote in his letter to the Ephesians 2:14-15) that Jesus had abolished the Law with all its commandments and regulations. He seems, however, to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. In the Gospel According to Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus is reported to have said quite the contrary, as follows: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law . . . ." Jesus then went on in that passage (in verse 19) to denounce anyone who would break the smallest commandment and teach others
likewise. He also praised his true followers who will practice and teach even the smallest commandment. One of the commandments, as we have seen, is to stay away from pork.
Five chapters later in the Acts of the Apostles, 15:29, we find that the original disciples still differentiate between clean and unclean foods, and this time Paul is in agreement with them. Six chapters later, in ch. 21, v. 25, their decision to impose food regulations on believers is mentioned without regret, and this time Paul is challenged to prove that he is in agreement with them; and he demonstrated his full agreement with them.
