I know i'm only 16, but is it wrong that I never want to have a vasectomy? My dad, uncles and grandpa's all have vasectomies. The reason is that you never know if you want to hve more kids.

At 16, why are you even thinking about the possibility of changing the plumbing in the future? Vasectomies are a conditional thing and it comes down to being your choice. It is a good way to end the ability to create a child, true, BUT, they are not always reversible and I believe it increases the possibility of testicular cancer too. Also, I have heard the tube's that are cut and tied have been known to grow back together and allow the flow of swimmers again. You will, however, know if it is right for you if it ever comes up in your future.

Your to young to be thinking about a vasectomy. Right now you should be thinking about protection with a condom. To tell you to substain from having sexual intercourse at your age is ridiculous because I'm not a stupid adult. Kids are having sex at your age and even younger. Of course you'll want kids when your older and mature enough to handle all the responsibilities. But not at the age of 16. Use Protection every time!!! After your older and have had a few kids then that's something you will have to discuss with your wife...........

Depends on the circumstances but if you were in a relationship and you had the number of children you had agreed, on then it would be appropriate to have a vasectomy, if only to share responsibility.
Vasectomy is always reversible if circumstances change.

Well I feel that you are young and well if you did get one there is a chance that it could not be reversed. I understand that you do not want children and I can say that I do respect you for your taking responsibility, but since you are 16 you have a long life in front of you and may change your mind. I would just practice safe sex. Or the 100% most effective birth control is abstinence

I dont' know about you guys but i don't think your wrong at all. If a girl doesn't wanna have anymore kids than she can get her tubes tied. I mean what if you and your wife get divorced and you meet another girl get married and you want her to have your kids. What are you gonna do then? Can you afford another procedure?Think long and hard about what you wanna do? Although if your worried about maybe wanting more kids and don't want another operation than you should freeze some of your sperm that way having more kids is always an option

Well, you are only 16. Lots of things may change as time passes. When I was 16, I was going to go to UVA, major in biology, go to med school and be a doctor. None of those things happened, in no small part because I changed my mind.

once you have 3 little ones running around a vasectomy won't sound so bad.

its not wrong but it is easier to get one 4 a male than a female it is also easier to have it reversed women can have it done so it is permanent what you decide that you want another child down the road and she has had her tubes cut burnt and tied. to were you could get the reversal done much easier.besides if she comes up pregenant you would know its not yours!!!!

You do not have to do anything you don't want to do and you cannot get fixed at age 16 or even 18.
