Not everyone is Christian. Because the "bible" says so is not a valid answer. The bible was translated from an ancient text and thus is imperfect in translation. Besides that, I'm sick of my own personal beliefs being trampled on by a bunch of people who claim to be "above" me in some way because of God's enlightenment too. Well MY God enlightened me and I believe in my religion, but I don't go around forcing other people to consider it. I'm not knocking Christianity, however I believe the practice of forcing your morals upon others is wrong. Does this make me a bad person?

I wanted to add that I do not mean this in reference to questions asked about the Christian God, I mean it in reference to questions regarding relationships, and other areas of life that are not directly connected to religion.

I was raised Christian, but the religion itself did not fufill me in the ways that I felt were needed. That doesn't mean I hate Christianity in any way. In fact I believe it is a beautiful religion that does a lot for many people (just not for me). I went to a very liberal church and despite of my difference in religious belief they allow me there with open arms and sometimes I still go to enjoy the service and the messages that are expressed. My problem is not with the religion, but with those that condemn me for being immoral just because of my differences in opinion on how to conduct my sexual, personal, and intellectual behavior.

Of course not. It IS frustrating. There are alot of christians out there who make the rest of them look bad. Just keep in mind that those people are not truly christian- they are just using it as an excuse to feel superiour to you.
Besides- you can laugh about it. When they condemn you, they sin according to the rules they claim to follow and the go agianst the will of the God they claim to love. Jesus said that he without sin could throw the first stone, but he also said that to be human is to sin- follow the logic, and no stones should be thrown. Some people just think that their exempt from the rules, apparently. Silly people- you'd think they would have actually studied the religion they claim to follow, wouldn't you?
Just ignore them, but don't let it sour you on christianity in general. There are tons of great christians, great wiccans, great buddhists, great athiests..ect. Its all a matter of tolerance. Some people just don't get it!

No it doe's not make you a bad person. But that's how you fill, and the same conviction that you are expressing, christians have ther own convictions and beliefs, and they are taugth to teach people and to spread the gosple, whats wrong with that? If you don't want to hear what there talking about don't listen, or remove yourself from the conversation, walk away what ever. But the same way you are intitled to your opions so is everyone eles. And no one can force religion on any one, religion is a personal choice and because you are'nt forcing your religion on others does'nt mean they are either. Believe it or not there are people who are open minded, who embrace the thought of being informed even when it comes to religion. You say your own personal belifs are being trampled on. Well maybe you should have more faith and belief in whatever it is you believe in. Because i'm not some saint nor do i try to force my beliefs on anyone. But in the same token no other religion nor culture beliefs trample on what i believe in because i believe that Jesus IS LORD! Point blank and other people have the same right to believe what they choose to, I just dont have to choose to listen!

I totally understand where you are coming from. You are most certainly not a bad person. I'm thinking some people probably bring up God when they answer certain questions because He is part of their life. I know for me God is my everything. I'm sure they mean no harm. However I don't think it's cool when people put other people down just for having different beliefs. I know it hurts me when people bad talk Jesus but, I would never force my faith on anyone or trample on someone else's religion. Like you said it is wrong! I suppose there will always be rude inconsiderate people who think highly of them selves in the world. Well thanks for not knocking Christianity I appreciate that. Peace Out and God Bless all who want a blessing from God!

I only answer questions about God when it is a question referring to him. Anyway, you're not the first and the last to feel that you are less than someone who believes in God. Some Christians are shrewed about it, and that is not the way to be if they really know God, and some aren't. Not everyone I've seen mention God is hurtful. Also we are pretty much bashed and made fun of too Because we believe in what people think is a hoax, but you know what everyone is going to believe what they want at the end of the day, so why dwell on rather people will change their beliefs or not. I can't make anyone believe in God no matter how nice I appear to be about him. I know what God has done for me, I know I'm not perfect and neither is anyone else, which a lot of people get confused about. Anyone, including Christians who think they are above anyone, it is not the way to be, and it is not so true. God wants us to help people find him in their hearts, but not the way a lot of Christians do by lashing out and binding spirits which people who don't believe in God wouldn't understand. There is misconceptions about us, but it's not to look at as we think we are better. God knows we aren't but he loves everyone.

No, I'm a Catholic and I don't think you're a bad person. I actually admire people who have convictions about their faith no matter what "know-it-alls" would say against them.
You asked, "why Christians always bring God up when answering questions". I ask you why not? I haven't been in Y!Answers for so long that I realized that some people don't like it when my advice is peppered with my belief in God. I am perplexed about it as you are but for the opposite reason. It was really upsetting for me to not freely give advice that I learned from the bible and my Church's teachings when these answers are the best answers that I could think of.
I think no matter what your religious orientation is you have to be truthful about it not only to others most especially to yourself. People in Y!Answers are composed of different people of different beliefs. Their answers here, unless otherwise stated, are their own opinion and they are entitled to it being members to this site. No one should judge any of us because we are in no position to judge as we've never met them and we don't know where they are coming from.

True Christians spend over 90% of their lives either reading the Holy Bible, praying for guidance from their Lord Jesus/God the Father, or enjoying the unlimited inner peace of trust, joy, happiness that is their blessing for that faith. The true Christian believes that not a thought, breath, step could be taken without their Lords help.
The text, Holy Bible, teaches these people to reach out a helping hand to anyone in need of assistance and to teach those on the outside about Lord Jesus Christ show that they may have the option of believing or not. It also says that if the person does not wish to hear the message than walk away - the Christian would never force anyone to hear the message.
If you have your own beliefs why not try to help others by telling it to them if they will not receive than do as the followers of Christ and simply walk away. You are not a bad person no one should force anything onto someone against their will!

Not at all, however I believe a lot of people misconstrue Christian advice on something as "forcing beliefs." Be sure to read the answer for what it is and not read into it. I disagree with forcing beliefs on anyone however, it is the last thing that would convince people to join a religion or belief.

No, you're not a bad person for being annoyed. Just human.
I just came across an article on witnessing that recommended that if someone complimented you on your shirt or luggage to respond, "Thank you, the Lord gave it to me" as a way of opening the conversation up to talk about Christ and God. Note: it didn't say anything about a compliment on your eyes or hair, just material objects.
Apparently, it doesn't occur to them that that is waving a big red flag there with the words 'Religious nut' on it. We know Jesus doesn't come personally to anyone with a shirt in a gift-wrapped box.
Of course, if the Christian who repeats this phrase is speaking to someone who is into bondage and domination and who interprets the word 'lord' in a different sense, it could get interesting.

Where did you see this type of behavior? If a question is asked about religion, then why wouldn't a Christian quote Scripture to explain their interpretation of the answer? Are you saying that sharing an opinion that is different from yours is trampling on your personal beliefs? Dollars to doughnuts nobody here even knew that you existed before you asked this question, let alone what your personal beliefs are. If you don't want to consider someone else's beliefs, then either stop reading their answers or go hang out in another section.
