There are a lot of things allowed in your carry on luggage, I would suggest that you visit the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft with you in both your carry on and checked luggage.

You can bring liquids/gels/aerosols in your carry-on as long as they are in travel-sized containers of 3 oz. or less. All of your travel-sized containers must fit in one, quart-sized ziptop bag so they can be screened separately by security. All of the details can be found at http://www.tsa.gov .
