I used mine yesterday to roast a chicken, and it did a fantastic job. I used salt and pepper, poultry seasoning, and basil.

I adore my crock pot! I'll bring mine to work (my office is a converted house so it has a kitchen!!), add my ingredients and let it go all day. The hardest part - keeping the greedy piglets I work with away from "sampling" dinner! LOL

I have an awesome short rib recipe, if you're interested!

-few packages of beef short ribs (dependant on the size of your crock pot)
- 1 red onion, sliced
- bottle of "BBQ" sauce (I like Bubba Brothers or Sylvia)
- olive oil
- dash of ground mustard
- dash (or 2 or 12) of Red Hot sauce (dependant on how spicy you like it)
-ground black pepper
-salt

You'll want to slice the red onion so that you have "onion rings" and place them in the bottome of the crock pot. Add the short ribs on top of the onions. In a separate bowl, combine the bottled BBQ sauce with olive oil (use a few table spoons), ground mustard, hot sauce, ground black pepper and salt (you can also add in cayenne pepper or chili powder as well - again, depends on how spicy you want it). Wisk this mixture together until well-combined and pour into the crock pot, making sure that you get all the ribs good and coated (again, you may need to double the liquids if you have a large crock pot with a lot of meat). Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours and enjoy!

I serve this with homemade cornbread and some grilled asparagus and family loves it! In the summer, we'll actually do this on the grill (you'll just baste the ribs instead of cooking in the sauce; we'll grill the red onions too) and add some fresh summer sweet corn instead of cornbread.

Hope you like it!

I put in a roast, then in a separate bowl I whisk together some water, pepper, envelope of onion soup mix, can of cream of mushroom, and envelope of brown gravy, and pour it over the roast. I cook on high for a couple of hours till the liquid has been bubbling for awhile, then turn it down to low for the rest of the day. When it is really tender I take it out and separate it with two forks till it is shredded, then make gravy in the crockpot. [Use a whisk to mix several large spoonfuls of flour with some water, then add it slowly to the liquid in the crockpot, whisking continuously. It will quickly thicken into WONDERFUL gravy.] Then I return the shredded meat to the gravy and cook another hour or so.

Aren't crock pots a wonder?

I don't have an actual recipe...I just keep it in my head. ;) But you can do a turkey breast or pork roast with a cranberry honey glaze really easily and it turns out great!! (The pork roast should be browned first!) Mix one large can of gelled cranberries with 1/2 cup of honey. Just throw the meat in there and pour the glaze over the top! Truly easy and really, really good!!

All fruits are fruit and vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which can be used for food.

In the superstore, fruits are usually picked out far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bitter. Some of the fruit and vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.
