without any tolerance. I try to take painkillers like Vicodin and Codeine, but there's no effect at all. It doesn't even make me sleepy or relieve pain.

I read a study once that said 80 percent of people aren't helped by codeine. I don't know about vicodin. I do know that morphine doesn't do a thing to kill my pain, so I've been reduced to the point of telling my doctors and others that I'm allergic to it because that's the only way to deal with it. If I tell them it doesn't work, they don't believe it. So if vicodin or codeine don't help, just say you're allergic to it, and they'll try somehing else.

Hi...Well truth be told? I actually had all but 1 wisdom tooth taken and even surgically removed without anesthesia! The last wisdom tooth was removed WITH local anesthesia, that's it! So,YES it is possible to have your wisdom teeth removed without anesthesia! I had to have 3 injections of novocaine in order to have them surgically removed, but it got done.I told my oral surgeon that I did NOT want to have anesthesia,so we opted for the novocaine.I had to real issues after the fact,I also got a prescription for 800mg of Ibuprofen, and I did really well. But I also took Tylenol in between taking the Ibuprofen.I did fine, and even IF your having more pain than you can handle, just call your oral surgeon and he/she can simply write you a script for something stronger. But I feel you will do just fine.Wishing you all the best and hope all goes well for you.

Yes-it's called an idiosyncratic reaction. My mom can get IV narcotics and it doesn't affect her.
