It depends on what's causing you to be depressed. If it's something in your life, it may well go away once the issue is resolved. If it's major depressive disorder (clinical depression), you need to realize that it's a disease and seek treatment. Talk with your family doctor about treatment.

Depression is not something you can just snap out of and feel better. Depression is a serious illness that needs to be treated. It's not your fault that you are depressed, and you can get better. I'm not a doctor and I can't make a diagnosis for you. But make an appointment with your health care provider who can take further history and can diagnose and treat your condition. Also, request a checkup to see if there are physical problems or medicines that are causing your depression.
Depression is an illness that affects the body, mood, and thoughts. About twice as many women suffer from depression as men. People who are depressed may feel hopeless, worthless, very sad, and have no energy or interest in doing anything. Some people describe depression as an "empty, or sad feeling that won't go away." This kind of depression that does not go away is called "clinical depression." It is different from feeling "blue" or down for a few hours or a couple of days.
Most people with depression get better when they get treatment. The two most common treatments for depression are medication and psychotherapy (talking with a trained counselor). Support groups can help. Sometimes just one treatment is used and sometimes a person takes medicine and sees a psychotherapist. Health care providers may need to try different medicines to find the one(s) that help you the most. It also may take a few weeks or months on the medicine before you begin to feel a change in your mood and outlook.
Good luck to you!

When I get depressed, I try to work towards a goal. Maybe you can take an online class and complete your degree. If you already have one, work on another degree or certification. For me, this works. I have heard meditation and yoga will really help depression. Depression is an illness just like any disease, so if you think it's serious see a doctor and he or she will prescribe and antidepressant. You are just at the middle of your life, don't spend it depressed. It may not go away unless you change something in your life.

Depression has many sources and dangers. If you feel it's interfering with your life and is deeper and more prolonged than a state of the blues, please consult with a mental health care professional. Medicines are available to correct brain chemistry imbalance and there are cognitive therapy exercises that you can work with on your own.

I know exactly what you are going through. Me, my mom, and my brother all went through depression. We have always had a good family life. Depression is unexplainable. It can last a long time, but it won't last forever. It will pass. Just have faith. Good luck.

NO it will not go away. U need to figure out what it is that is making you depressed. And fix it...say you think your life is not what u wanted it to be, then u need to change it to go toward your dream....ALWAYS have a dream (no matter how silly or outragous it is), without dreams we just drift along........u need a direction and if u follow you dream, whether you are making progress or not then you will be happy.

Yes it will. You have to distract yourself, take up a hobby, go for a walk, learn cooking all sorts of things. Life does get better, you just have to move on and put your troubles behind you. Good luck.
