I would say go with a pit bull. When raised right they are very friendly, love able, and loyal and most of all guarding. Trust me they are the best.

I would go for the German Shepperd, they are good guard dogs,
I have never had one but I have a friend who walked one as her job (of coarse I walked with her).
I have had rottweilers, and their the best guard dogs, and their family friendly!

My friend has a german shepard and that dog is so damn smart. My friend is in a wheel chair so this dog *Voodoo* is the biggest help. Not only does voodoo protect my friend but helps him carry groceries or pick up laundry off the floor and put it in a basket. It truelly is an intelligent dog.

I recommend a Dovermen Pincher bcuz they are very good gaurd dogs, watch dogs, and are easy to train. A German Shepard would be my secon d choice bcuz its very frindly easy to train a good watch dog but when it comes to protecting its averge. i dont recommend agressive dogs like ptibulls bcuz they might attack you by mistake and they are very dangerous.Good Luck!

Chocolate labs are usually good guarding dogs. My dad's chocolate lab saved him from an earthquake.

I'd go with German Shepherd. Personal preference. I've had kids take bones right out of my Shepherd's mouth and he didn't do anything.
