you just have to commit. Thats my new years resolution to give up junk and fast food and work out daily and at least drink 2 cups of milk.

Dancing works if you do it enough. Cardio should be done in 10 minute blocks of time, at least 20 minutes day. Cardio will increase the blood flow in your body, which increases your metabolism.

Strength training is possible without weights. Squats for legs, various exercises for the back, dips for triceps. You can use canned foods or bottled water (put into bags if you need more weight) for various things like bicep curls, or if you need more weight for the squats, etc.

Building more muscle will definately help you burn calories from the junk food.

Aerobic videos can be fun. It's a lot of jumping around, really. Check oout target heart rates as well. 50 - 70% of your max heart rate will be optimal fat burning, but the higher the heart rate, the harder you're working and more calories you're burning.

I lost quite bit of weight a few years ago by simply walking. I'm slightly handicapped, so there really wasn't much intensity involved. Just a walkman with my favorite sing-along songs-about 40 minutes worth. I would warm up a little by stretching or climbing stairs before I started in order to get my heart rate up, then walk 20 minutes in one direction. turn around, and come home. Three or four times a week, depending on the weather. I made it home in time for "Passions." Heh.
It took a few months, but I shed quite a few pounds this way
without changing my diet.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

Unfortunately you have way too many excuses at the moment to really want this. But be prepared that if you don't stop making excuses you are only going to get bigger.

If you want to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit & blow outs.

Here are the golden rules:
Be prepared only have good food in the house
Initially cut down to 1200 (women) - 1500 (men) calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a green tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices

Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI soy yogurt OR
Banana smoothie - homemade lots of ice, banana, low GI low fat yoghurt & scoop protein this makes two servings so put the other serve in fridge for tomorrow morning.
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - muligrain sandwich w 50g tuna & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)

Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.

Cardio needs to include running, go hard up stair wells and cycling. If you have access to a gym include boxing and spin classes as well. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.

To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 (women) - 1800 (men) and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 (women) - 1500 (men) cal and 6 sessions again.

Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.

I might be wrong... but it sounds to me like you would like to lose weight if it didn't encompass self-discipline. You are right, self-discipline is hard. But the rewards are huge.

There are a lot of things in life that are hard, we just need to either go ahead and do them or be ok with the consequences of not doing them.

I have b*tched and ranted about my loose belly (just a little bit) but I was never able to bring myself to exercise. Then one day I decided and I went headlong for it. Try not to be too sad or mad and give yourself time for a committed decision to emerge. When it will surface it won't be *that* difficult.

*hugs*
