Seriously, was he just hanging out in the background or was "partitioning" of God something that happened later?

The doctrine of the trinity is that there is one God and 3 persons in the Godhead. One of those persons is Jesus. As God Jesus always existed and always will. In the Old Testament Jesus was everywhere. As God He is omnipresent. All 3 persons in the Godhead have a divine nature. One of those persons, namely Jesus, took on a second nature.....a human nature. This was the Jesus we know in history....the one that went to the cross. That human Jesus was not yet born in the old testament. It was predicted in the old testament, 700 years before Christ was born, that the Messiah(Jesus) would be both human and divine. Isaiah 9:6 says " For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". Jesus is all through the old testament.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the word was God. When we speak of the sacrifice Jesus made, we do not merely mean dying on the cross. He sacrificed being One with God the Father and Spirit in eternity and stepped into time, as a fragile baby, born to a frightened teenage peasant girl. The Bible tells us he retains the scars he received here on earth, yet those closest to him did not recognize the risen Jesus. Solving the mystery of the Trinity is something reserved for heaven.

This is a question that you have, or should have, already answered yourself through study of the old testament there are many references of our lord Jesus assisting his people in these texts. Lot before fire, Daniel in the fire, Daniel with lions den, I could go on and on and you should be able to add dozens of examples of your own simply by reading the text - you will find many amazing things in the old testaments.

as the story goes he wasn't born yet. Better yet where is he now; people praise his name when something good happens but when tragedy happens human error is to blame. If you are asking this question you need look at yourself and think why do i need to worry about words in a book that no matter what anyone says they cant truly explain to me. None of us were there so we cant tell you this. you have to figure out for yourself what is morally and socially right.
