Weight and shape are not the same. You could weigh what you did when you were 12, and if you have sagging muscles, you'd just be shapeless.

Find an exercise programme that focusses on the abs, lats, back, and sides of your torso -- in addition to your whole body. Yoga, ballet, and hey, BELLY-dancing work amazingly well.

Follow a low-fat, no-sugar, high fibre, high-veg & fruit diet, and do more tummy-crunches than anyone would ever want to. I can't guarantee 28", but you'll certainly lose inches around your waist.

Remember that as you get older, everything gets heavier, hairier, and closer to the ground. This is real life. You're never going to have the figure of a 20 year old, at 40. Be realistic in your goals!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Just keep dieting and exercising until you reach a 28 inch waist, unfortunately this question is a bit "How long is a piece of string"
We are all different and will lose weight in different ways, find out what way works best for you and stick at it.

Not enough information: If you were asian, female, 5' 1" and 200 pounds, I would give a different answer if you were caucasian, male, 5' 8" and 160 pounds.
I suggest buying a Tanita scale that measures your bodyfat based on your weight, gender and height. That way you can best keep track of how much bodyfat you are losing or gaining, and adjust your diet and exercise accordingly.

One, I have no idea what you weigh now, and two, you're a guy right? You would have to be a very short and skinny guy to have a waist that small. Why don't you aim to be fit and toned instead.

depends on your skeletal structure. I wouldn't worry about how big your waist is but how much body fat you have. a small waist is in no means a viable method of determining health or physical fitness...

Start by training your abs (especially the transverse) and see what happens. You might want to try hula hoop which is both a form of cardio (it burns fats) AND a way to train your abs.
