Your soul is something deeper than what you seem to think it is. It is your "true self." It is the little voice inside you that just "knows" things, for example what is the best course of action when you are faced with a decision, or whether a person is trustworthy. Your soul is the part of you that allows you to forgive someone who has hurt you. Your soul is all love, light, and wisdom. The voice of the mind speaks in a loud voice, the voice of the soul in a whisper.

Yes, I believe we all have souls. I also believe that everything that is alive on this planet also has a soul. I have learned that if you eat a handful of walnuts at night time, say around 8 pm, you won't feel hungry for the rest of the night. It helps if you put some belief into it. Drinking some decaffeinated tea will help as well. Try to relax as well. Stress just creates more problems in the long run. Meditation helped me a lot as far as gaining a better understanding of my thought process.

Hmm... So soul=cerebral cortex... Gottcha!
My personal assholitude asside, I actually do believe on some level in the soul based upon my experience, but on another level I regard this belief as irrational, as consciousness ultimately seems to be the sum of a large combinations of brain activity.... Oh well, yes, I'd say there is a soul, but it has little to do with actual thoughts, and it wouldn't even be limited to humans, or biological life for that matter.

I believe that we all have a soul. A soul is a part of the mind that operates like a conscience; but Tennessee Williams, if he were here, wouldn't agree with me. He'd unravel a map and bellow: "Now show me this-this thing called a soul." I'd then tell him about immaterial and material beings. Your soul is your conscience, and it is an immaterial being. The soul, according to Rene Descartes (which I believe as well) is Mind. Mind cannot be extended into space or occupied-as the soul cannot and doesn't. Material or immaterial it is there, but it goes under "conscience."

First, your soul is not your willpower. Your soul is a combination of past lives, God, and all those who have gone before you (who make up your consciousness). Second, if you always gain weight over the holidays, spend your time with those who make you so anxious that you can barely eat. I just went through that and lost five pounds.

I think you are confused! Your willpower is not your Soul! He he!
You are Body, Soul and maybe Spirit if you have excepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior but aside from that the book of Genesis says we are all made of body, soul and Spirit. Body being flesh, Soul being the blood and Spirit being what God gives you. so, to answer your question and give you a better understanding of it all I would say Yes, I have a soul!

Defining soul in that way changes my answer.
I don't believe in a religious "soul" but I definitely believe in my will and consciousness.
My will for 2007....
passion, openness and self belief.

It is a proved fact when a person dies he weighs 27 lbs less. Souls don't get fat or gain weight. All Souls weigh exactly 27 lbs. The next time someone dies weigh him. He will weigh 27 lbs less proving conclusively there is a soul. Animals weigh the same dead and alive. Weigh an animal when he dies. Animals lose no weight. They have no souls. xx

Sounds as if you might be confusing "consciousness," with "conscience." The human conscience has been seen by many philosophers as evidence (not proof) of a created being, and hence, a Creator.
