I went out with a 25 year old and it broke off because of the age gap, mostly because my parents would not allow it and so I couldn't find ways of seeing him...

You could had different situations, though, and it could work out... give it a try, don't stop yourself just because of age. It is, after all, just a number, and you are both as mature or immature as you act.

Some people will call you a paedophile, though, they did that to my ex :P
If it's legal in your area, then it's okay!

There is a huge difference in a 17 year old versus a 25 year olds experience. 7 years is not a big age gap when you're say 25 and 32 . 17 and 25 are on different experience planes.

No age gap is too big or too small if the couple is compatible. If your girl is a mature 17, then it should not be a problem. As long as you both have things in common, can talk like grown ups, and enjoy each others company, as far as I'm concerned you could be 30 and she 17! I have been out with guys 6 years younger than me, and my current b/friend is 5 years older. No sweat as long as everything else connects.

Usually I would say no, since my bf is 10 years older than me. In this case, though, I dunno. I say this only because since she IS 17, she has not likely had a great deal of relationship experience. If you decide to take the plunge and ask her out, keep in mind that she may not be as mature as you're used to. Don't expect too much. She is still a teenager after all. I would honestly steer clear if only for the reason that you work together. Workplace romances almost always spell some sort of trouble. I also hope that the legal age of consent in your area is 17...otherwise you'll be considered a pervert by a lot of people.

For those ages, yes 8 years is a lot. I am 17 and if my parents knew I was dating a 25 year old, they would definitely be concerned, as well as the police. I suggest finding a girl who is LEGAL for you to date, it will save you a huge hassle.

For a sexual relationship: yes, that is illegal and called statutory rape whether she is willing or not. For an emotional relationship: you are at two different stages in your lives...it will most likely not work, so why get your heart involved.
It would be better to either wait until she is in her twenties and if you still like her, try it then. Or move on to someone a few years older. Good luck! And remember to think with the head that is on your shoulders, not in your pants.

I would not worry too much about the 8 year difference. It is that little 1 year difference (under 18) that may cause you the problem...depending upon where you live, and how fast you can run. Ask her parents...her dad in particular.

if she is 17 by the time you get out of prison she will be 27 and you will be 35 so no not that much of an age difference.
