Definitely, Religious politicians may be fanatics and cause maximum damage to humanity. I would prefer a logical, scientific and good natured and decent non religious politician who is willing to work selflessly for the country and humanity

A true politician would never say such a thing... but if one shows up who would admite that I wouldn't vote for him ... just because if a politician is saying such a thing it shows that he has no political brain and political strategy ... thus he will bring disaster upon his country and his people . I would rather to have a leader running my country that knows how to survive in this world... one who admits not to be religious is too naive for this world's politics.

If I agreed on the platform which that politician was running with, and if I thought she or he would make a good leader I would vote for that person regardless of religion or gender.

Nope. He would be lying if he made such a statement becasue the religious (read as christian) factions inthe political arena would NEVER allow a non religious person to gain any power or influence unless that person was well known outside of politics already....

yes, i consider not being swayed by religious duties or constraints an asset which would lead to said politician being more reliable to think for themselves on important issues rather than following any particular herd

Sure. If it was a matter of religiosity alone, all things being equal, I would be more likely to vote for the non-religious candidate.
