Re: Disable "Acquire licenses automatically "

You may want to try this:

(1) Open the Windows Media Player, click on "Tools" > "Options"
(2) Click on the "Player" tab, clear the "Acquire licenses automatically" check box.
(3) Click "Ok" and close Windows Media Player.
(4) Open Windows Media Player and try to play the file again.

This restriction should "disable" Windows Media Player from automatically connecting to Internet sites for acquiring licenses.

To turn off content protection when copying CDs:

(1) On the Tools menu, click Options.
(2) Click the Copy Music tab.
(3) Clear the Protect content check box.

Side Note: You might also want to download another media player like MediaMonkey or Winamp which come in free and shareware editions and offer more options IMO. Windows Media Player is not as configurable as the other two.

Hope this helps... Good Luck!

a lot of times u get those messages you're giving someone perrmission to give u a virus, or something that will download A LOT of cookies and spam that opens when u open the file. I wouldn't fool with them at all. I usually go for .mpeg or .mp4 files
