Your dermatologist's suggestion may very well be correct. I have a friend who was actually hospitalized from a very bad sun burn over a year ago and her legs are still hypersensitive. I don't know how they would treat it. She seems to have some times that she does just fine and others that it really flares up. The only thing that I could think of is perhaps going to a neurologist who could possible recommend some kinds of treatment for it if it is hypersensitive nerves. Good luck to you and God Bless. I am sure that it must be a nightmare to live with.

I have had itching for almost one year on my left arm on top. FINALLY after many visits to the derm, I gave up and tried gold bond powder. It worked. My itching stopped and for weeks I had no recurrence. Now, it's back on my RIGHT arm. This time worse than the first time. I'm suffering and the powder does not work. I am in your boat now trying to figure out something else. The only thing I can do is take my prescription benadryl at night if it's intolerable and put an ice pack on it which really works for an hour so I can fall asleep. good luck to us both.

A full body detox cleanse. Colon, Parasite, Toxin Cleanse. Check out Coloinix and ToxinOut by Dr.Natura.com. and then do a liver flush. You don't change the way you eat (maybe a little) just use the products and follow the recipe for the liver flush... Being full of toxins and 'leftovers' can cause many many conditions including the worst skin problems, I wouldn't leave the possibility out.

You may want to check the ingredients in your personal care products. Chances are you could be allergic to the synthetic chemcials found in most personal care products.
Just for the heck of it, I recommend switching to 100% chemcial-free products for a few weeks and see if you notice any difference. Instead of a harsh detergent soap or body wash, try an all-natural, fragrance-free (or naturally frangranced with pure essential oils) glycerine soap. And if you use lotion, try a chemical-free moisturizer instead, such as pure, raw Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter.
A couple of chemical-free brands that I use myself are Aubrey Organics and Terressentials. You can find Aubrey Organics at Whole Foods Markets or at just about any natural store, or you can order online at http://www.aubrey-organics.com . You may be able to find Terressentials at a local natural store (you can check out their retail locations at their website) or order online at http://www.terressentials.com .
You also may want to check your laundry detergent and fabric softener. The "fragrance" or chemicals in your laundry products could be causing irritation. Try using a fragrance-free detergent (All has a fragrance-free detergent, or if you want an a chemical-free detergent, Seventh Generation (http:www.seventhgeneration.com) and Earth Friendly Products (http:www.ecos.com) make all-natural laundry detergents) and try those Dryer Balls (you can get them at Bed, Bath & Beyond for about $10) or no fabric softener at all, instead of regular fabric softener.
If you find that trying chemical-free products stops the itching, then you can prevent the itching rather than trying to treat it.
I hope you're able to find relief for the itching. Good luck!

Try this, it sounds crazy but take two benadryls and see if it stops the itching. My husband used to have an similiar problem to yours where his back would itch like crazy, and they had tests ran which never proved anything. So he took benadryl and it stopped it.
Or you can also get the liquid benadryl and spread some over your forearms and it'll soothe it...crazy as it sounds, but works.

Could be allergies or it could be a result of stress. Mine is both. I discovered that I am allergic to melon of all things. Often antihistamines can help control it.
