As I understand it, anyone born in the United States automatically becomes a US citizen. I'm fairly certain that they will remain citizens regardless of the status of their parents. The link makes this pretty clear, and the 14th Amendment also states it pretty clearly. I would probably check with the local federal government office to be sure, but I don't think a naturally born citizen can lose their rights due to the status of their parents.

Any child that is born in US is a US citzen, even if his parents are here illegally or on work visa (green card).
When applying for citizenship, it helps some, to have a child that was born in the US. It gives you even more reason to be a US citzen or at least be allowed to work in the US. If your child born in the US has any "special needs", verified by a medical doctor, then special consideration can be made.

The child is considered a citizen until they renounce their citizenship. The fact that their illegal parents returned to their homecountry will have no effect on her citizenship.

Everyone has answered correctly. A US citizen is a citizen for life, unless he commits an expatriating act with the intention of giving up citizenship thereby.

Oh yea! Even if his/her parents were born and raised here. All someone has to do is marry an illegal and watch your rights fly right out the window. It doesn't matter if it's for love. Kiss your right to "pursuit of happiness" goodbye. You are treated like a criminal for falling in love with the "wrong person." The steps you have to go through and the "interview" are like criminal interrogation. The time they make you wait to be "legal" is your sentence.
