Dont bother. Most batteries have a shelf life of 3-6 years, the upper applies to alkaline types, as long as they are not exposed to above room temp. I recomend alkaline for all applications. Yes, refrigeration will prolong the life of batteries...but why waste the space?

Yes, many batteries will loose strength from heat, keeping the batteries in the fridge when not in use extends their life. Lithium ion batteries start to decay the moment the are made, the temperature they are stored at has a large effect on them. To properly store a lithium ion battery discharge it to 40% and store it in the fridge.

yes that is true but over time they do die because its energy is still being released. If you put them in the freezer they will last longer. But make sure you thaw them out before use.
