As much as I liked it, and it made my teeth look great, you would have to keep wearing the plastic retainers after you are done with all the invisalign. It was great how you don't have to keep them on all the time, but if you bite too much, it might not look pretty!

However, the bad side of it is that I got TMJ disorder (temporomandibular joint), which is basically your jaw not functioning correctly, causing headaches, etc. So, I now have to visit this TMJ specialist once a week.

My TMJ doctor said that he doesn't recommend invisalign, because there are many people who got invisalign and got TMJ problems. Also, you would always have to keep wearing invisalign, because according to him, if you stop wearing the retainers afterwards, your teeth might go back in the place they use to be.

Although the TMJ doctor might not recommended it, I wouldn't go back and put the metal ones in! I'm glad I got invisalign! It is painful, but once you put them on for a few hours, you get used to it. Also, you can take them off when you eat, and put them back on afterwards, so you don't end up getting food bits inside your mouth, like with metal braces. Also, you don't have to worry about your lips getting caught in the metal, too!

Invisalign has been around for a long time and has a good success record. If a qualified dentist says your case would get a good result, it's probably fine for you.

Cost can even be less than traditional metal braces.

i had metal braces for three years and now i am wearig an invisalign retainer. i have been wearing it for three years.

i have noticed that my teeth have moved a little...not as straight as when i had my original braces taken off.

i don't recomend them for correcting teeth. get good braces and then get a good retainer. sounds like you won't need braces for very long anyways.

If your orthodontist said it will work, then it will. How ever Invisalign costs more then regular braces.
