Sure. The trend is not to use intracanal medicaments anyhow. _I_ still tend to use CPC (CMPC), but that's just because the patient feels like they are getting some "medicine" due to the smell. What you take OUT of the canal system is more important than what you put in.

If someone has not resolved their abscess, though, it is not a good idea to complete the root canal treatment in only 2 visits. You should wait until it is no longer seeping drainage when you open the tooth. If it is still seeping after the second visit, I will generally put them on amoxicillin and try again after 7-10 days.

The last one I had only took one visit.
Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you'd probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then your dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!

Yes....sometimes dentist will open and medicate a canal and then send the patient home to come back at another appt. to finish the root canal. Sometimes it is not necessary to leave any medications in the canal and it can be done in one visit. But you would have to go back to prep your tooth for a crown. I work at a dentist office and we sometimes do the root canal therapy and we do the crown prep on the same visit! It just takes a long time and most dentist will not do that.

Yes it is.First visit half of the nerves is removed and if the tooth was hurting before, a medication is put on to calm the tooth dawn. The second visit everything comes out. They fill the empty canals with special wax and seal the canals by heat,or other stuff. The RCT is done.

Yes it is possible. In the 1st visit the root canal is done & the dentist does whatever it is he does to order the cap. Then when the cap comes he puts it in.

On the 1st visit you don't have to have medication if you like pain since he will be drilling out any silver in the tooth.
