i always exposed the pulp when preapring the lower anteriors.

This can be a problem in lower anteriors, as you have discovered. I hate doing crowns on the lower incisors for this reason. As long as you have adequate incisal reduction (1.5 mm or more), you might just accept that you can only reduce by half a millimeter at the finish line and you will see some opaque and the crown will be somewhat more bulky than it would if you could reduce more tooth structure. You have to decide which is the lesser of two evils. When you consider the difficulties associated with placing a post in lower incisors, the weakness of the remaining tooth structure, and the reduced visibility of the margin areas, it might be better to preserve tooth structure and try to avoid the pulp chamber.

They say that you have to know the rules in order to understand when it is better to break the rules and perhaps this is one of those times.
