I am going on a road trip to Tuscany Italy. I will be all over the place. Any suggestions as to where to go sightseeing and what restaurants I should visit and what food is good there?

I'm living in Tuscany (just in the between of Florence and Pisa) and in spite I'm over 60 I've not yet seen all of my region. Wherever you go you'll find awesome highlights and then it's not worthy of making you a detail with a list since you'll have already tons of them. I've just a few suggestions to you. Come here quietly, without being in a hurry and watch all around you, wherever you'll be.
You'll hear then centuries of story whispered by the buildings, the walls, the streets, the people. You'll don't need for a guide, our tradition will lead you to visit our lands.
As to the food is not to be told that you'll find millions of options, all of them valuable under certain sides. My suggestion is to avoided the big reastaurants in the crowded midtowns, in the tourist routes. Try to find small restaurants, wherever you are, better if in the small villages (we call them "trattoria") take seat and ask to the waiter (that is in mostly case is also the owner of the trattoria) which is their speciality. He will be more than honoured to suggest you the best dishes of his spot and then you'll enjoy something that you'll never forget. If you don't speak Italian, don't worry; They will understand you and make you understood in some way (just remember to speak not too quickly) Also for the wine (please don't drink cola, orangeade or beer with our tuscan cookery) pls relay on his suggestions, don't drink renowned and costly branded wines (unless you want afford it knowing already their high cost).
If you have time and will to read about Tuscany in my different answers you can have an wider idea of what's waiting you.
My email is always open to yr further requests.

Enjoy Tuscany.
