Drinking a lot of water before going to bed is an effective way of preventing the symptoms of dehydration experienced the morning after. Water before bed will also help wash out your system from the alcohol.
Drinking water between drinks is also a great way to prevent the ailing morning-after effects.
crunch and munch
To help avoid a hangover, try to eat or snack before or while drinking.
Now if these suggestions didn't work or if you didn't follow these tips, here's how to handle the morning-after hangover:
water
The symptoms you're feeling post-drinking are signs of dehydration caused by the alcohol. That's why you must rehydrate yourself by drinking a lot of water when you get up.
Rehydrating your body is the key to recovering from the hangover, and this cannot be stressed enough. You can even put some lemon in your water, it'll help soothe your stomach and will add vitamin C.
When drinking water, avoid water that is extremely cold or hot; drink water at room temperature.
coffee
Even though you're extremely tired and a cup of coffee seems like the best way to wake you up, try to stay away from it.
Caffeine will only dehydrate you more, and since it's also a diuretic, it will not help your stomach. Milk and other dairy products are also not a good idea; they may make you feel more queasy.
ginger ale
If you don't want to drink water, try a glass of flat ginger ale, which helps soothe your stomach.
juice
Juice is also a good idea; vitamin C will help give you the energy you'll need.
obey your thirst
Sports drinks such as Gatorade have been known to work for some people.

To make sure you don't get a hangover in the morning, drink (really, chug) at least 2 full glasses of water right before you go to bed. I know it sounds very silly, but I like to funnel a thing of water before I go to sleep. It may sound hard to keep down, but it will keep you hydrated through the night and help in the morning
Also, wine and malt liquor are the most likely to cause hangovers, so avoid these types of drinks. I've noticed light beers and vodka are the best at not giving hangovers.

I am sure it is different for every person but for me I learned how to prevent from having a hangover this summer while in Spain. I had to walk everywhere I went, which included coming home from the bars and clubs... I drank lots of alcohol for 3 weeks straight every night. I never once got a hangover and neither did my travel buddy. We both think its due to walking home after partying, which was at least a half a mile.

I have found that on nights of heavy drinking, if I take 2 advil and a huge glass of water right before I go to sleep I don't have a problem in the morning. Ofcourse it all depends on your drinking habits, and what the effect of diffrent alcohol have on you, but for me that works wonders.
Oh, and no severely cold water in the morning after.

Once I got into the straight vodka, I felt crap-tacular. The next day I had a really good chicken caesar salad. I was moving in no time! Other than that i 'd generally recommend a healthy meal.

Lots of Water! If you can get the electrolyte Popsicles that they use for children who are sick to keep from being dehydrated, they work great! Try not to use a lot of OTC headache pills, but if you need to the headache powders work well with a bit of caffeine and won't kill your stomach!
