When you die, you die. There really is no such thing as a "soul" as people commonly think there is. Many people believe your body is a container for the soul, and the soul goes to another place when you die. Nothing could be further from the truth. All thoughts, feelings, personality, etc, is generated through the brain. There is no separate "thing" that lives in your body. When you die, your brain dies, and there is no more "you".

If you read Genesis you will know we are all made of Body, Soul and Spirit. Your Body and Soul remain here on earth till the second return of Christ while the Spirit Returns to Heaven.

Read Luke 16:19-31 - I believe this is a picture of what actually happened in the lives of 2 men - i don't believe it is a parable.

actually the Bible is very clear as to what happens when we die. first of all we are souls (ie. our body is a soul) we do not possess souls. gen 2:7"And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul". nothing of the human is immortal. ecc 18:4 "Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die."when we die, we go back to the ground from which we were formed, we do not go to heaven. ps104:29 "If you conceal your face, they get disturbed. If you take away their spirit, they expire,
And back to their dust they go."but there is hope, the resurection. acts 24:15 "and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous" wanna learn more? lets talk...

i think religion has it right about some things, but not about all. reincarnation is one theory i think is headed in the right direction. but as for once dead, always dead? no. i dont think so. as for where we go once death has occured...i dont know. nobody really knows for sure. well...that can tell us anyway. i have no idea what happens after your eyes glaze over, and i hope i dont find out too soon.

I believe that most souls cross over. Religion has nothing to do with the eternal life of our souls.

The soul is the fruit that God desires, the flesh counts for nothing.

From the Catholic point of view, there is the particular judgment (heaven, hell or purgatory) and it awaits the Final Judgment at the end of the world.
