Is that kid my step-sister, my half-sister or just nothing at all? I don't want to have anything to do with her and I usually just call her that woman's kid. Personally, I think dad should have a DNA test done on her, but that's his problem.

This child is your half sister because you share the same father. I guess you are a tad bit resentful. But shes Innocent in this situation the same way you are And you really have to stop yourself from calling her that woman's kid, that just is not right and i think you are better than that. Ask yourself if you were her and she were you would you want to be treated that way? We do not live in a perfect world we can not pick or choose mates or spouses for our parents. And just because your father has a new daughter makes you no less his daughter, i can bet he loves you .And instead of being negative about this new situation try embracing the fact that you are now a big sister. Family is very important don't do anything now that will one day jeopardize you and your sister's relationship. You might marry or have a child by someones father one day in the future.

If she is indeed your father's child she is your half-sister. Why are you so against her? This is an innocent child we're talking about here. Regardless of how the parents got together or how your dad hurt your mom, this girl is biologically linked to you. You need to show her some kindness and be the example God put you in place to be. Your actions could have life-long detrimental effects on not only the relationship with your half-sister but your relationship with your father as well. Maybe you are choosing this attitude in retaliation for your father hurting you by leaving. It doesn't make it right. Remember the saying two wrongs don't make a right? It's true. The Bible has another saying, "do unto others as you would have done unto you." Not as they have done to you but as you would HAVE them do to you. If you wouldn't want your own family shutting you out and treating you terribly you shouldn't do it either. If you are trying to give your father a dose of his own medicine it's going to backfire. This is between you and your half-sister, not you and your dad. Hate is a bad, bad thing. It's like acid. It destroys the vessel in which it's held. That would be you. There is absolutely nothing to gain by hating. There is only good to be gained by loving. I pray God will give you wisdom & guidance in this situation.

Well, that makes the 'kid', presuming she's a girl, your half-sister. Hopefully, you guys could love each other even if she is from your step mom. She's still your sister from your dad, right? She would only be your step-sister if she was your step mom's kid only. Good luck.

That is your Sister for life. I think it's horrible when people say that's my half sister. Sounds like you want people to know that your not full blooded Sisters when you say it like that. Give it time. You will bond hopefully with your sister. Good luck and give her a chance it's not her fault. As for the paternity test if your Dad thinks the Baby's his then you should accept that. This rumor is still up in the air. Kenya recognized several different types of marriage, not all of them were recognized by other countries. Obama Senior's first marriage has been described as a "tribal" marriage, which might not be considered a legal marriage in the US (like handfasting, spiritual, or common law marriages may or may not be legal considering the exact circumstances). Since this was never bought to a court and many legal facts are unknown, it's still a rumor. But one that doesn't really matter, as Obama was born in the US.

She is your half-sister. Try to remember, she is an innocent child brought into this world. You can choose to have a relationship with her that could turn out to be cool, or you could choose to ignore her, which might be best for her if you are a spoiled little s*it.

SHE is your HALF-SISTER ... and if there was any doubt in your Father's Mind .. then he would go do the DNA test on the child to determine if the child really was his.

If your father is also that child's father, that would make you and her half-sisters. If she has a different father than you, but your father and her mother are married, you are step-sisters.
