Don't see why not. It has been known to happen before. You can get sperm from a sperm bank or a willing man!

Worrying accomplishes nothing, changes nothing and that energy has better uses - as in just support your Mom with kindness and consideration like normal with maybe offering to make an extra cup of herbal tea or fold the laundry without being asked ;) . Relax, if she is high risk her Dr will be on top of it to care for her. And the norm even with high risk classification, is a totally managable pregnancy and delivery. Her age is not unusual nowadays to have a child and the fact that this will be #6 is also positive medically. And unless twins/multiples run in the family or she is on fertility drugs that is NOT a normal occurance at any age, and definately not just because she is 44. So unless there is a factor you didn't mention that is causing you to think you should worry---don't! LOL. Tell your Mom your concerns and let her answer and discuss this, I'll bet you'll both be glad to talk about it and get on the same page. Most pregnancies are totally uneventful. with the exception of a really sudden labor in which case maybe a Paramedic like me would then come and help and support her thru the delivery with a normal birth that just didn't happen at the hospital ;) . Honestly , After 5 kids I'm sure your Mom knows the drill of how to take care of herself and the baby, and also would know better than a first time young Mom what is normal and what is not, so she would get checked out by her Dr right away if that was indeed the case.Seeeeeee.....experience is a positive thing ;) . Her Dr will monitor her and the baby's health and development thru periodic exams and appropriate tests. Maybe you could go with her to one of her checkups? Then you could ask any questions or voice your concerns and be assured. Do what ever it takes to alleviate your stress, it is contageous, and never is good for anyone - not even growing babies. So I hope you feel better now and can concentrate on other things- like how often you'll agree to babysit LOL ;).

Yes you can get pregnant at the age of 44 but there are complications that can occur but don't let that stop you because if this is your first child then you should be able to love the child the same as you would if they didn't have anything wrong with them. If you really want to have a child go for it don't listen to other people say no its not a good thing because it is... I would also talk to you OBGYN about what complications can occur and if your up for it go ahead hon. I would at the age of 44.

You can still get pregnant. BUT there is alota health risks for you and your baby. First, the baby could have a disability. Also, is your body capable of still re producing and carrying full term? You also have to think if it is fair to your child. When this child is 20 you will be 64 years old! Are you still going to be healthy enough for you to be stressin about a wild teen 24/7. But then again, it is your choice! if that is what you want then go for it! Just make sure you are the healthiest you can be!

It is possible. My husbands aunt who is 52 just gave birth to fraternal twin boys. She had already gone through menopause, so she had to undergo hormone therapy and then they cultivated 5 embryos in pee-tree dishes and implanted the 2 that the doctor thought were healthiest. I don't agree with what they did, but now they have twins and she is most definatelly not prepared for any of it. Also if this is something that you are consiedering, find out what happens to your body after you deliver, does it automatically revert back to menopause or will it sustain and produce milk for your baby and anything other changes that may occure.
