How do I become this girls friend without her thinking I am weird?

There is this one girl at my school whom I have a really big crush on. The only problem I have is that she has never talked to me and I have never talked to her. She is also popular and definitely the hardest girl for me to become friends with. I just want to get to know her to see if I still like her. How do I get close to this girl?
