Why won't Muslim leaders unequivically condemn terrorism as being an un-Islamic course of action ?

Most moderate Muslim leaders stay silent about 9/11, the Bali bombings and Palestinian aggression.

Why don't Muslims gather in the Middle East to protest against the radical extremist Muslims who kill in the name of Allah?

Muslims: How do you feel towards suicide bombers who hijack Allah and contradict your belief that Islam is a peaceful religion? Don't terrorists upset you?

One point is that Islam lacks strong central leadership. Pretty much all Muslims despise Israel and hate the USA for helping them. You might have some moderate Muslims speaking in the west and even a few in the middles east against terrorism. The Arab street is very supportive of terrorism more then people realize. The average apology is "9/11 was bad but the USA had it coming for its support for Israel" this is said over and over was also said by a Saudi prince.

Almost every Muslim organization has condemned terrorism. The only problem is that this is never reported. Thge only thing that is reported is liars. As soon as they say something on TV, all of a sudden everyone thinks it is true. There have been protests, there have been anti-terror fatwas. The only thing keeping everyone from knowing that is that they do not report these kind of tings on the news.

Terrorists do upset me. One thing though should be noted. Not every organization deemed as a terrorist organization by the United States should be deemed one automatically at face value. The American media has a canny habit of not reporting what is the truth.

I think everyone can agree that Al-Queda are terrorists. The only problem is that anyone who does not agree with the United States is deemed a terrorist, even if they only go after military targets, or merely becuase they want to create an Islamic state. Take the Islamic Courts Union of Somalia. They have no real links to terrorist organizations. All they did was bring peace to a country that has been in chaos and anarchy for the last 15 years. It was only after Ethiopia's invasion that radical elements begin to appear. If the international community were to give the Islamic Courts Union a chance, there would be no reason for radicalism.

There is no doubt that terrorism is horrible. My only gripe is over who is called a terrorist.

From what I have been gathering, the Muslims hate Jews. And the USA supports Israel. The current small voice in the Muslim world that is getting stronger is the one that says, 'we will recognize Israel as a nation. There seems to be more fighting over it in the Muslim world now, and I think that support will win out. The Muslims will not get thier way by fighting Israel, so look for them to begin to say that they recognize Israel and then attempt betrayal at some point on time after that.

In answer to your wuestion, the Muslim leaders are appearing to approve of the end justifying the means. I wouldn't trust them even if they did say that they condemn it. They have gone too far without forming any kind of resistance to them. Whatever they do now will be false; an attempt to get us off guard.

We do! Terrorists are our enemies much more than yours, they are followers of their own Satanic desires claiming to be Muslims. There are been numerous religious verdicts (Fatwa's) against terrorism. They kill women and children and claim to be Muslim following the teachings of Muhammad (when killing Women and Children is FORBIDDEN in any war). The Islamic Council of North America did condemn them.

Yes, they do upset me. The funny thing is that those who claim Islam is a violent hateful religion are using the same verses out of context as the terrorists... The verses related to fighting where about the battles the Prophet and the first believers fought against the Pagan Arab tribes.

I can only guess they either support what extremists are doing or are scared to speak out against it out of fear. Maybe the media just doesn't cover it as much as other groups. On an individual basis I would like to believe that the vast majority of Muslims are against what is going on in the name of Allah. I would very much like to see what Muslims think on this question.

Muslims do condemn terrorism in all forms but you will not be convinced even if they come and shout the same at your door. They condemned terrorism by Muslim, by Israelis, by Bush and every other tyrant individual and nation. They also condemn those who lie about Muslims that they are not condemning. If you think they are going to stand at every corner and shout about it then go and fly a kite.
As far as Palestinian struggle is concerned, only those can condemn them who have been in their shoes; driven out from their homes and villages by Machiavellian tricks and by murderous campaigns by the Zionists; left rotting in the camps for more than half a century; Zionists helping others to butcher them in their refugees camps sabra and Shatila); then bulldozing their shanty towns in camps; murdering their fathers in front of their families; and also every resolution that just simply brought their plight to the world forum being vetoed by US administration to please the Zionist who are holding their balls that they can squeeze any time by neocons, AiPAC etc etc,..... and you want Palestinians to just throw stones at tanks or otherwise walk in in some military formation against the Zionists in Abram tanks protected from above by unlimited supply of US F-16, F18 and what not, and then you want the world to condemn the Palestinians for their struggle in any form against a ruthless occupier!
