Hi BitterEnd
Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood.
Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems."
Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin."
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Natural Cures
1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot & spinach, celery & watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.
2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.
3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.
4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.
5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.
Best of health to you

If you are a teenager there really is nothing you can do. Its all hormones going crazy. I mean if you wash your face to much your skin dries out and gets irritated and if don't wash your face at all you get clogged pores. I heard Pro active works but, I would say go see a dermatologist and get help. You don't have to suffer. Also remember that it is very important to not pick in acne no matter how tempted you are. It just makes things worse. Everyone has had acne before so don't get into that I want to hide depressive mood. It just makes things worse. Good Luck with everything and remeber your skin will get better just make the best of each day.

Yes, Proactiv works. My 2 teenage boys had terrible acne and the redness associated with it. They noticed a great improvement within the first week. They have been using it for 6 months now, but only continue to use it to maintain a smooth, clear face and to prevent breakouts. It is a little expensive, but worth every penny. Give it a try. I don't think you will be disappointed!

YES!!! This stuff is GREAT!!! It is totally worth the price! I am 40 years old, and always have had slightly oily skin. I don't have any wrinkles either, and this stuff is gentle enough yet gets the job done and keeps me from breaking out!!! If you buy it at the kiosks at the mall they charge more, but you'll have it right away, rather than waiting for it in the mail. They also are offering "starter" minature kits for half the price, like $20.00 to try it. Either way, if it doesn't work for you you can get your money back. Don't bother trying to buy drugstore brand similiarly marketed products, they are horrible and rough on your skin. Give the Pro-Active a try. Then consult a dermatologist if you are still having serious acne problems. Good Luck!

YES!!!! I had been going to the dermotologist for over a year...no luck at all...found something in the mail and thought what the heck do I have to lose. SO happy I did. Not only has this worked great for me but I had also gave some to my brother and its cleared him right up...Just stick with it and you will know pretty quick if you are going to have to continue with every step or be able to use just a few of the products once you get yourself cleared right up. I tried the tetracycline for years with no luck at all...Now I wont use anything else but this. I think they may have offer a money back but check first. Give it a try and I pray you wont be sorry you did. Give it a few weeks before making up your mind but more than likely you will find out before then and see the difference. Also not sure what makeup you are using but it may be that your makeup you do use is causing you some breakouts as well...I ended up switching to BareMinerals and so glad I did...Its very light on your face and really covers things up well....It takes a little getting use to but just practice with it and you will get it right. Also if you are having breakouts around your hairline is your hair oily? If so get a clarifing shampoo and conditioner. I really like the one from Biologe. Its for normal and oily hair and really makes a difference as well...
I hope it all clears right up for you. I know its hard to deal with but maybe this will be your answer and you will start the year out with a better feeling about your skin....

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

I know exactly how you feel, and proactiv did not work for me. Not only did I break out more from it, they kept billing me months after I cancelled. My acne and post-acne marks are bad enough that I'm willing to wear makeup (I'm a guy) and I can honestly say I have regained all my confidence since I began applying revlon colorstay concealer and a mary kay bronzing powder to my face every morning. I'm sorry about your acne but I feel your pain. you're not alone and we're all gonna just have to wait it out.

This place looks like a proactive advertisement! Haha. But honestly I think that you should consider stress. Stress has a huge impact on body chemistry, and it is responsible for many things, including acne, those irritating sores on the inside of ones mouth, headaches, and etcetera, etcetera.
You may very well need some kind of medicine, but I think you should also consider reducing stress in your life, and see where that leads you!

I have an acne treatment that has won me the best answer ten times. Each time, the person said it worked great. I'll copy and paste it below.
Use a hot compress on it, and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.

It's like every other acne system out there... It works great for some people, horrible for others, not at all for others. If your acne is that bad, go see a doctor. They can prescribe antibiotics and prescription creams/topicals to help you out. Good luck!
