Usually I'm as polite and courteous to others as I can be when answering their questions by giving a logical answer, however once or twice when the question was outrageous I simply put "reported" and nothing more. I would never put someone down by calling them names, yet I got a stern warning for that answer. Has anyone gone through the same thing by asking something or answering in a way that they thought was innocent, but got trouble for it? Needless to say, I'll be more careful next time. Thank you.

i have never got such warnings. i suggest you instead of mere saying reported, you can say "your question is in bad taste". if you give answer REPORTED, some body can report against your answer and report to the yahoo team that your answer is for point gaming.

I've never received a warning, however, it sounds like the warning that you have received in this instance was for what they call "point gaming" - since you have reported it as an inappropriate question, but still received 2 points for answering the question by indicating to the asker that their question has been reported. People do it quite frequently - perhaps others can indicate that they've been warned for such behavior. Also, it may depend on whether the person asking the question or other users "report" your answer.

I ask a very innocent question and got a rude warning email. I really do not know who is in charge, because when you say that you want to know why they do not bother to email you back and explain, and if you notice there are tons of people on here asking the same question. So who knows

I've gotten violation notices on a number of occasions for both questions and answers, all but one of them legitimate. (That one that wasn't was back when I was new to Yahoo and didn't yet know the ropes.) I'd bet the person who fired off that warning in your case did it to virtually everyone else who typed "reported"- just to get back at them. You're not the only one.

Yes, I answered a question no, it was an electrical question and the answer was no, I sent an email back to Yahoo to defend my answer, but haven't got a reply. Don't worry about it.

Don't tell people that you reported them. It is supposed to be anonymous. I got a violation warning because some idiot reported me because I answered their question about fast food and I gave them correct info, which contradicted his babble.

Hey. I wanna give you some GREAT advice. Remember, this is America, and you can say WHATEVER you want! Don't worry about these sensitive liberals trying to tell you what is Politically correct or not. If you think someone is an idiot , tell it to them. Don't be scared to offend.. In fact, i think people should be offended on a regular basis. Keeps them on their feet. Yahoo is a crybaby liberal company, but don't worry about them. You keep saying what you want too!! If they don't like it, they can just go out of business! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes twice I got.
I still couldn't make out why!
I in fact wrote to yahoo services also.I gave them my clarifications but of no use!
Anyways, I learned from my experiences, now I am well cautious and aware of my answers.
