ive always dreamed of dark beautiful ringlet curls or waves flowing with tons of volume and no frizz, but sadly i was cursed with straightish wavy hair:(

i want to try a curling iron that creates natural waves and that damages my hair to the least amount, so i would really appreciate your help! id prefer a ceramic one that gives good shine:)
ive also thought about perming my hair curly, so if you could give me the pros and cons that would be really nice too!
thanx!:P

I have a Conair ceramic iron and I LOVE it! It hasn't ruined my fine hair ever. It curls/waves so well, no frizz, no frying. The heat is spread out evenly....I love it! And it heats up within seconds and you can adjust the temperature setting. I got a perm because I was tired of curling it every day and wouldn't you know it fried some of my bangs of so now I have little 2 inch sprouts sticking up! It looks hideous!

Have you ever noticed how well a curling iron works at a salon? The secret is the curling iron has been on for a long time. At home we heat them up for a few minutes. If I was you I would make sure that the curling iron is in a safe place and let it heat for a few hours or over night. This way its nice and hot. At a salon the curling iron runs all day long, give it a shot

first do you have a lot of hair? not the thickness the amount? i have alot of hair and in the 80's like most people got perms. they tended to fall out quickly because my hair weighed them down. also the perm can seriously fry or damage your hair. they also look weird when you are growing them out.

a good place to buy a curling iron is Sally Beauty supply. I have a ceramic one that I bought there for about 25 bucks and I love it. I use it to make my hair wavy lol. (its stick straight!)

Try a local CVS or WalGreens. If you don't have these stores check out a local pharmacy. Many have 5 pieces so you can change them from straighteners to different sized ringlets or just a regular curling iron.

Definitely use a ceramic iron (sally beauty supply) - Its much better on your hair - you might spend a little more - but youll end up saving by not damaging your hair like a typical iron

depending on how long your hair is i would buy pack of $10 foam curlers from Target. put them in before you go to sleep, then take them out in the morning. i do this very often and my dead straight hair becomes very curly and i often get asked if i got a perm. its cheap and easy and not too damaging

I have the Conair infiniti and it works better than my old Conair. It was $24.99.

I've had Revlon and they didn't work for me at all. I have coarse, straight hair (caucasian) and it's hard to curl. I use the highest heat setting.

The best one I have brought ever was actually ( you won't believe this) was at Dollar General! But get the most expensive one at Dollar General. It isn't really that much and is definitely worth the money.
