Go to add/remove programs and try to repair it from there. If that doesn't work uninstall it and install an earlier version.

Go with the Foxit Reader and you will never look back. And you do not as the other reader suggested, need to use the Firefox browser to use Foxit. Internet Explorer will work just fine with Foxit.

Dump that hog and download foxit reader. It is a small standalone app, so put it in documents and create a shortcut from there to the desktop.

Try opening another PDF file, if you haven't already. Uninstall Acrobat 8 and then reinstall and try it again. If that doesn't work then you can try here:

you can also use photoshop if you have it. Photoshop will open pdfs... or I would suggest you reinstall adobe reader.
