You sound like you qualify for:

child tax credit
additional child tax credit
earned income credit
exemptions for yourself and each dependant (of course)
child and dependant care credit (if you used a daycare)

Take the time to look at each one. They're worth a lot of money.

You will not owe any tax if you can take your own exemption.

Whether you get the Earned Income Credit for your child depends on a number of factors, such as if you are a dependent of someone else, and if you lived with the child for over six months of the year. If you qualify then you will get close to $2400.

First answer correct. You qualify for "Earned Income Credit". I not sure how much, but, you will be surprised. You could look in your 1040 book (Instructions) from last year if you kept it. The part in back shows the numbers and how much you would get.

Earned Income Credit will probably get you some money. You can get it in advance if you fill out the paperwork right with your employer. File your taxes ASAP online with an electronic refund to your bank account to get $$$ quickly.
