I would believe that to be rum (though anything should do the trick, I prefer Baileys). The proportion depends on how drunk you would like to be... Usually an ounce - 2 ounces will do it well enough (per drink). If you're making a punch bowl full I'd say a bit under a fifth... or maybe just a pint? Depends on personal preference.

rum or Southern Comfort. and in regards to proportion, i believe it's best to go with personal preference for that because some people like their drinks strong and some do not.
also in some areas, you can buy egg nog already spiked in the liquor store

A recipe we have in Italy is VoV.
1/2 lt milk
400 gr sugar
110 gr egg marsala ( I do not know if you can find it in USA)
3 yolks
110 gr pure alcohol
2 tea bag of vanillina (sorry but I do not find the English transaltion)
1) boil sugar with milk and make it cold
2) mix eggs with vanillina
3) slowly add to point 2 milk and sugar and marsala, finally add alcohol
I know this is not exactly what you were looking for....but I'm quite sure you do not know this kind of drink!!!
I hope you can find all the ingredients...try it it is very good...you can put in also as a top of an ice cream!

depends on the size of the cup, 1-3 shots Rum is choice but bourbon is also popular but my preference is Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

ive only tried rum and never herd of anyone using anything else ive made it and dont measure anything just go by taste if ya like it strong use more rum less week use less
