Personally I think that our curriculum is years behind. Take for example one of my math classes. I am in the most advanced 9th grade math class offered at my school and find myself bored because the information that is being presented is simply review. Two moths ago we revewed common finite difference (many of my peers including myself had finished with common finite difference in 4th grade) and it was presented as new information! Personally I think that educational system is holding students back by teaching only basic Information.

Before you send a reply involving private school please note that our town only has one private school and it is catholic (I am not Cathiolic and refuse to go to church for school every week if I do believe in the religion). My mother has attempted to get me to go but in this pivate school the curriculum is even farther behind than that of the public schools. Furthermore my parents will not allow me to go to boarding school.

Concerening advancement: My high school does not allow 9th graders to go beyond Honors geometry (the class I am in now). To stress the situation: There are people in my class who think that a b is actually an acceptable grade.

Concerning my age: I am 15, so I cannot take colledge courses. Furthermore I would not have time Between tutors, violin lessons, debate, charity work, variouse clubs, and helping my parents with each of thier bussinesses, I have very little free time. And yes I do know that it sounds strange coming from someone using this website but I normally do my homework while doing this - after all I do need some mental stimulation, however unsatisfying.

How well do you get along w/ your teachers. I had the same problem in school and they let me do independent study classes i took human physiology that way. Can you do online college classes as well...you don't tell your age but that may be a possibility for you :)

Good luck...i feel your pain. I went through 13 years of the public school system being bored.

Troops have nothing to do with this, I’m in the Army, also to answer the question, schools are updated, yours just isn’t, I’m taking an AP (Advanced Placement) course in the 11th grade, that’s a college course class, besides that all my classes starting from middle school have been GT (Gifted and Talented) and H (Honors), which many ppl can’t seem to get into, most ppl at my school about 3,000 in total, which about maybe 1/4th are in these classes, the rest are in advanced classes, which really means basic or remedial, but to be nice its given a nicer title, so yeah your school is just behind and no, money for education is not used for funding the military, America is built on an education first policy.

Since you're in 9th grade and are in high school there are usually tests that allow you to go up in math. That's the thing about HS: You earn credits and that's what you need. I'm in 10th grade and I'm in Geometry. My friends in 10th grade, and she's in trig/pre-cal. See the difference? There should be a test that should allow you to go up in math. Well at least there's one in California. Good luck. Also if there isn't a test then talk to the teachers, councilors, whoever you need to do whatever you can.

If we would have pulled our troops out of Iraq at the end of major combat as declared by President Bush and spent the rest of the billions of dollars we have spent over there on our schools then we would be in better shape!
