That is too too much. Take about 2-3. Some of the most common aspirin side effects are stomach pain, heart burn, nausea and vomiting. An aspirin overdose or higher dosage than recommended can cause very serious health issues.

Aspirin is a blood thinner, it reduces your platelet count. Platelets are the clotting factor in blood, that is why many people are given it during or after heart attacks. However, taking too many can lead to the development of Reye's Syndrome, which many people die from.
I don't know how old you are, but unless authorized by a doctor, it is most likely not safe to take that many Aspirin.

You can take allot more than 8 (like 20 or so at a time) although there are side-effects and there is no good reason to do so, 8 aspirin will not manage your pain any better than 3 or 4

If you are under 18, don't take aspirin. There's a risk of something called Reye's Syndrome if you take aspirin while under the age of 18. Take Tylenol or ibuprofen for pain, instead.

Follow the instructions on the bottle, and don't take more than it states to take. There's a reason that there are instructions there! It's possible to seriously injure or even kill yourself by taking too many over the counter pain relievers. Just because you don't need a prescription to obtain them, doesn't mean that they aren't potentially hazardous.

If you've already taken 8 aspirins, call 911 or get yourself to the emergency room as soon as possible.

Hope this helps.

If you are talking eight 200mg aspirin, that is too many. You risk damaging your stomach and may overdose. In addition to the possible sotomach damage you are looking the potential for severe blood thinning. In general you should follow the directions on the package as that is how the human testing for tolerance and side effects are done. In the armed services, it is normal to receive excessive doses of around 1600mg, though it is not recommended. If you are only taking it once, you should be fine. I would still recommend you take less as the products are designed to be effective at the dose described on the package. Taking higher doses doesn't necessarily mean you will have a quicker or increased effectiveness from the medication.

Aspirin by nature is an acid. This means that it can cause stomach irritation and this is increased in higher doses. It also inhibits an enzyme (cyclooxegenase, or COX) which is needed for platelet formation. This means that aspirin can cause stomach bleeding AND stop your body's natural ability to stop the bleeding (clot). The more you take the higher your chance is. No it's not safe and aspirin overdoses are very hard to treat, even in the emergency room.

That many aspirins can cause stomach problems. You should not take more than 3 regular strength aspirins at a time or two extra strength at a time.

Dosage
For adults doses of 300 to 1000 mg are generally taken four times a day for fever or arthritis, with a maximum dose of 8000 mg a day.[5] The correct dose of aspirin depends on the disease process that is being treated. For instance, for the treatment of rheumatic fever, doses near the maximal daily dose have been used historically. For the prevention of myocardial infarction in someone with documented or suspected coronary artery disease, doses as low as 75 mg daily (or possibly even lower) are sufficient.

For those under 12 years of age, the dose previously varied with the age, but aspirin is no longer routinely used in children due to the association with Reye's syndrome; paracetamol or other NSAIDs, such as Ibuprofen, now being used instead. Kawasaki disease remains one of the few indications for aspirin use in children with aspirin initially started at 7.5-12.5 mg/kg body weight taken four times a day for up to two weeks and then continued at 5 mg/kg once daily for a further six to eight weeks.[6]

OMG!! Hell No! You just thinned out your blood WAY too much! Why the hell are you taking 8 of them? Have you tried Tylenol? Are you in alot of pain? If so, see your doctor before you 1. get a bleeding ulcer, 2. ruin your liver, 3. get a cut and bleed out because you took too many aspirin!

Not unless they're baby aspirin, and even then, that's probably too many. Follow the directions on the bottle, or you're better off not taking it at all.
