I was just wondering if "Guys are more jealous than girls" is a true quote. Many girls I know are very jealous of other girls if their boyfriend looks at them, but I've always heard that phrase, and usually, guys don't show emotions like girls do.... so I just wanted to know if a guy doesn't show that they're jealous, are they "more" jealous than the girl is? Or is it that when guys don't show jealousy, they aren't jealous?
Thanks!

Girls have a greater reputations than boys for jealousy among both friends and nonfriends.

Study links jealousy with aggression, low self-esteem more often perceive their friendships as threatened by peers

Adolescents who are lonely or have low self-esteem more often perceive their friendships as threatened by peers

Girls reported being jealous over friends more so than boys. Why? Perhaps because research has consistently shown that girls tend to expect more kindness, loyalty, commitment and empathy from friends than boys do.

Many teens approach their friendships with an inability to trust others' loyalty and commitment and fear their friend will replace them with others who are more interesting

I'd guess it's about even. They are probably the same number of girls who get jealous easily as there are guys.

based on experince i would tend to sat that guys are more jealous. just think like of all the overprotective guys you have out there like hitting their wives because she looked at another man or boyfriends not letting their girlfriends wear certain things because they dont want her to attract men. guys have very fragile egos too.

I don't know where you got your 'quote' from, but in the Bible, it plainly states "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

Men simply know that there are more women. Thus let go pretty easily. Women more often than men, in my opinion, have more to loose when loosing a man (good provider, good father to the children) Men only stand to loose that woman...which there are many of.

It depends on the person. In my experience females can be very petty and jealous of other females and with their man.

I've never heard a guy say, "Look at him, he thinks he is so cute with that new outfit on, who does he think he is."
