I've had it for about a week now. I am using the Band-aid hurt free antiseptic and a I recently starting doing the salt/water method, also I do use dial on it. It is really red and sore (I was thinking it was b/c of the not so gret location. lol), and when i clean it there is just a little bit of white stuff that will come out, is it scar tissue. It's not oozing or anything like that! Any suggestions will be very much appriciated! Also, where do I find sea salts? Thanks guys!
Melissa

sounds to me like you are starting with an infection esp if it is "hot" also in any case I think a doc should look at it.

dont put your hands on it at all even if you just washed them.. always use a qtip and a squirt bottle with either dial soap or sea salts in it.. you can get sea salts at wal-mart. it is startig to be a little infected so just dont touch it

The stuff that is coming out is lymph secretions. It means you're healing. Mine got irritated, not infected, when I got it done. I sleep on my stomach and that bothered it. Get some chamomile tea. Make a cup and use the teabag as a warm compress in your navel. Chamomile is antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.

I know they tell you not to clean itwith anything but soap and water, but that sounded crazy to me when I had mine done, so I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol everyday...and you know what? I'm still the only person that I know who hasn't has an infection. Everyone else I know just used soap andwater and every one of them have had infections.

Are you turning it when you use the antiseptic? If you don't it will get stuck and become infected.

you need to remove that garbage. for it sounds like you are allergic to the metal of the ring.
for if you ever got into a fight all they would have to do is pull your ring and you will be down.

Well, I think you might be getting an infection. It will go away though.
